Service with a smile and genuine care! Such special touches during our visit made it feel very homey. She made accommodations for my grandma and all 3 tables in the restaurant were served a complimentary dessert of fried banana- so kind! I can't promise this will happen on your visit but this just speaks to the family style service you'll receive. On top of that, the food was so flavourful. Will be back again for sure!
We have been ordering from this place for over 5 years. It is wonderful! We order pah thai, green curry and our favorite is the glass noodle!I have been meaning to write a review for a long time. Thank you sooo much Thai Jalearn for such delicious food! Always such great service as well.
First time ordering from this establishment. Did so online which was straightforward, quick and easy. Order was ready for pickup at stated upon time. Service was friendly and the price very reasonable for the quantity of food provided. I ordered the lunch special Pad Thai with chicken and a side Wonton soup. It also came with a spring roll. Unfortunately the quality of the food was subpar. The broth in the Wonton soup had a strange sort of off putting sweetness and the Wontons were slightly tough. The spring roll was overdone and tough to chew and the dipping sauce was not balanced in flavour (all you could taste was vinegar and sugar). The Pad Thai was pedestrian, it could have used more fish sauce and some level of spice. The tofu was diced way too small and the peanuts should have been served in the dish as opposed to on the side. Perhaps that's nit picky but I think its important. Thai food is about precision and balance.
I've had pad thai from here several times and it was always great! We decided to try something else and got the Khao Soi and it was incredibly delicious. The curry was so tasty and rich I could have had a bowl of just the broth. They also give a discount for cash pickup which is an awesome deal!
Second visit to Thai Jalearn and enjoyed a very tasty lunch special of red spicy curry with chicken and rice noodles, delish! Loved the spring roll and mango salad too. Strongly recommend.
Nice little Thai restaurant. Been here a few times already and I plan on keep coming back. Always great food and great services. Authentic pad Thai, curry and they have the best mango salad.
We tried this restaurant for the first time this evening and will certainly be back. Friendly service, fresh & yummy food at a decent price. The ladies gave us deep fried banana to try which was a nice touch at the end of our meal.
I hate it when I leave a bad review but I feel that I should do it. I had Pad Thai there. Normally, Thai restaurants never go wrong with Pad Thai as it's the most famous Thai dish. However, I regret to say that the Pad Thai dish I had there was not only the worst Pad Thai I've ever had but also one of the worst meals I had in Toronto in the entire year. I informed the waitress that it didn't taste good and I showed her that I couldn't finish 1/3 of the dish and couldn't even pack it for takeout because I'm not sure I'll be able to eat it next day but nothing much was done.
Very delicious Pad Thai, tried the shrimp one and the chicken one. Authentic recipe uses tamarind (no soy sauce or ketchup) and the portions are huge! The roasted flaked chillies are super spicy so add them sparingly until you're sure you can handle it. Curry puffs are good if you like sweet/savory mixes. Great location with a bit of parking at the rear.
This is a small eatery and to maintain social distancing can only sit 8 people at a time. However, they may lack the space but certainly makes up for it with the delicious Thai food they serve. My favourite is their Pad Thai which can also be ordered in party tray size. I have also tried the curry, beef in basil sauce, mixed vegetables, chicken wings, calamari and they are all good. The lunch special is a good portion composed of spring roll, soup or mango salad and a main dish at a very reasonable price.
