4.5 stars. Had some Guinness and pretzels with mustard dip...really good, we enjoyed it. Service was nice, friendly, and the place is clean. This is a really nice gem, which we were not aware of previously, just happened to be riding along, my GF noticed the nice patio, and we rolled right in.We will definitely be back when in the area, and just recommended it to our friends who live local. It's worth checking out.
Friendly service and a spacious pub to enjoy some local eats and a drink with friends and loved ones.Every time I visit St. James Gate I discover new menu items and I'm drawn back to try something else or revisit an old favourite. This time we revisited the wings and fries, and not pictured were the sliders and (because they were too yummy to think of grabbing a pic) the 'beef patties'. Don't let the name fool you, they're more like beef samosas and they come with an amazing Guiness mustard to dip. French fries beside them were a perfect pairing. The wings are good but every flavour option tastes like BBQ, and the sliders were a bit dry, but decent.Overall, a great spot for some casual eats and drinks, and I HIGHLY recommend the 'beef patties'!
Fantastic service, good food even on busiest days… what else ?
We were already fans of this place (awesome food, good drinks, great patio) before we came here for St Pattys. The place was crazy but the staff went above and beyond. They were kind, patient and even shared their pizza with us because they knew my friend and I were hungry waiting for a table. We will be back!
We visited St James's for brunch on Sunday and it was above expectations. We've been looking forward to checking out this restaurant since we moved into the neighborhood in Nov 2021, but because of covid restrictions, we have had to hold off.
Great place with great food.
Food was great, service was a little slow, interestingly the jug we had ordered appeared as three pint glasses on our bill that kinda defeats the point! Keep your beer cool order a glass at a time because no savings come from it just a warm beer!Clean washroom, big space. .The Irish pub vibe wasn't that much there, but the deco wasThe Guinness was great as wellWill come back if I have to choose a safe place if in the neighborhood
Great service and the food was excellent...Burger Royale and lobster bisque...if that soup is on the menu you have to try it!!!
Friendly staff and patrons. It always feels like coming home, or like your meeting up with old friends. The food is well plated and what you would expect, although some might consider it at the high end of fair pricing. Live music nights have also been a good time in past. Try it before you love it.
Go and try the nachos! They are so good, perfect to share with 3 or 4. The place is really nice ..
