Truly the experience I had expected from a fish and chips joint: fresh halibut and haddock. Our server was a cheerful lady and extremely accommodating of our requirements - a very cozy place a quick and yummy meal. Definitely going back!One small rue: our order bill was a bit of mess and we were overcharged. But I took it back to our server and she refunded the overcharge. But I am still not sure we paid for what we ate since the bill had a different order.Regardless, the food was too good to not go back. Will definitely go back!✌?
My family brought me here today for Father's day lunch.They know I love fish and chips because of my British ancestry.They too enjoy fish and chips. We have been here before over the years and are never disappointed with our meals or service.I highly recommend anyone who us curious about this place to give it a try. First time at McNie's. Ordered the clam chowder, haddock & chips and coleslaw. Everything was delicious, large portions and excellent service. Definitely a gem!
Best fish ? n’ chips place we’ve ever ordered from!!! They literally have the best Halibut fish we’ve ever had by far. We always order here for Good Friday, it’s become our yearly Easter tradition. Thank you for all the wonderful fish over the years. You guys are awesome and the food is exceptional. ?
Violetta the waitress is funny, fast and very people oriented. Loved the food also! But she made my day. she came to our table to her order she was pleasant checked in with us later on after we received our meal to make sure that the meal was good and to our likings and then gave us a treat during some small talk.
I hate to make this review because I really want to support small businesses...but this was horrible. Ordered the halibut family platter and the fish was not cooked, shredded to bits. Fries were also not cooked. $100 meal and couldn't eat really any of it. Called for refund and we were hung up on more than once. I understand sometimes an order doesn't come out perfect, but the customer service is what drove me to make this review. Really sad.
Have been ordering from this restaurant my whole life. My 6 year old daughter wanted fish and chips for her birthday dinner, ordered a halibut family pack. Instead of 4 fish, there were 6+ smaller pieces. There was one small intact piece the other pieces were falling apart and the fish inside was clumpy (not flaky) and mushy. The owner tried to tell me this was normal and it was just how the fish was coming in - I've never seen that with halibut. He told me I could return it so I didn't think to take a picture. In the restaurant he would only return the money for this fish I returned, not the one small fish I was able to feed my daughter and charged me $20 for it (it was a wednesday at 6, she needed to eat). Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. You have not only lost me as a customer, but my family who orders from you regularly....the calls have been made. Do better!

3 stars for the service, 5 stars for the food. Uber Eats and Skip The Dishes drivers take priority over a standing paying customer waiting to pick up their food. No eye contact, no hello until the nice lady that was looking after the dine-in customers came over to ask if I had been helped. I'm disappointed that not even an apology or thank you was mentioned, not the first time either. I'll still get my fish and chips from McNie's and hoping for a better servixe experience the next time.
