Ordered a a chicken karaage, a miso soup, an avocado salad and a poke bowl for myself and my mom The sashimi was very tasty and she actually finished the whole dish. I did not get tempura this time but like to try as it was also recommended by my husband.
The service was terrible but the food was good. An older gentleman was serving us and ‘service’ was definitely not his thing. He refused to take our drink orders before taking our food order. I could see that the table next to us were trying to ask him questions and he seemed to have gotten annoyed. But the food was good.
I was disappointed in a recent trip here. Their udon is on point, but their sushi misses the boat completely. You can see that they use spoiled avocados in their sushi. Furthermore, their sushi is really salty for some reason. I hope they get better but in the meantime, you can do better at places like Gojima down the street.
Small family run restaurant in Etobicoke. Decor is reminiscent of Japanese restaurants that are hard to come by. Cute sushi ? pictures, chopsticks displays and tea ceremony items on the walls. Only disappointment is no in ground seating, only booths and regular seats. Fish was fresh, had the chirashi don. My foodmates had the karaage chicken which was fresh and tasty. The yam tempura werr perfect squares and well cooked, not soggy or overly done, just perfect. Plating was beautiful with some carved flower vegetables on the plate. Rice was tasty with flakes of seaweed, and cooked well.... Service was good...wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Prices were reasonable: Dinner for three was $100, with two appetizers (karaage and sashimi scallops). Bento was $23ish, came with salad, and Chirashi was $24, which came with soup. Will be my favorite sushi place in Etobicoke now. Overall: Family run sushi restaurant with cute decor and fresh fish.
You can taste the freshness of the homemade noodles at this family owned establishment. The rich broth is excellent and sushi is on par. As ramen enthusiasts, Ikkoi has our new favorite bowl of ramen in the area!
Got the Sapporo Ramen, really good, meat was nice and tender, overall good flavour. Also got the California Rolls, they where on point and for desert the black sesame ice-cream.Friendly staff, atmosphere was really nice, and restaurant super clean.I will be returning!
Superb Ramen !! Must visit in the winters. Give it a try, great comfort food.
Some of the best Ramen we’ve had outside of Japan. The noodles are perfectly cooked and there is plenty of vegetables and meat in the soup. The sushi was on a whole other level. We’ll definitely be making this a regular spot for us.
Wow is all I can say about the meal we had with our daughter. She recently moved to the area and wanted to try this restaurant based on a recommendation. No disappointment here. Food was fabulous. Atmosphere was very relaxing, despite just reopening after COVID restrictions relaxed a bit. The owner had no waitress due to an unfortunate situation but he and his wife did everything to ensure the food was fantastic. Thank you!!! Highly recommend this restaurant.
We were able to get a table at the last minute and was very fortunate to get one. So happy to dine in. The food was amazing, the kids loved the teriyaki chicken and tempura. My parents finished their bento bowl and sushi boat. Love the spider roll and the Dynamite roll. Will come back again for sure!!!
