Stumbled upon this restaurant one fine afternoon and I am so thankful to know about this place !! Amazing food. If you like indo-Chinese food such as Manchurians Schezwan rice/noodles etc this is the place to go! Price is affordable, quantity is perfect and the taste mind blowing !The owner was so friendly and she made sure we were comfortable and we got the right service.Highly recommended!
I saw the restaurant on a tic tok post. since it’s not too far from me and I love Hakka food thought we’d check it out.Since this was my sister and my first time there we asked the waitress what were the most popular dishes.The chilli chicken was so flavourful, deep fried calamari was as light as air, came with a green sauce…so good. Plus we had the Hakka chow mein so tasty. The waitress even asked if it was hot enough as they can adjust a dish to our liking.The food came hot and all at once, the waitresses were so friendly as was the owners wife.We were surprised that more people weren’t eating there but noticed the amount of take out that was being picked up…the kitchen was going non stop with one order after another.I usually judge a restaurant with amount of people who are in it.. I would have missed out on this hidden gem had I kept to my theory. Because the food was awesome and reasonably priced.We will definitely be coming back. If you are looking for good Hakka food and your in the Albion neighborhood then check them out as your taste buds will thank you.
We went in because reviews were good. We walked out wondering how this place is still open. Hot n sour Soup was white and bland; tasteless and even adding soy sauce and chilli vinegar did not do anything. The beef chilli dry was decent, could have been better. We asked for water and she put two glasses in front of us. I don’t have any words but really disappointed in service, the look & feel of the place and food is not that good either.
I am originally from Kolkata, India and we get a lot of Hakka food over there. I found Golden Joy and I LOVE THE FOOD HERE. It is exactly what you would expect out of the Hakka food that you would get in Kolkata.The food is brilliant and brings you back home.A must - Chicken sweet corn soup, chilli chicken, spicy garlic chicken and everything else tbh.The owner Linda was amazing and very helpful with my order. I had quite a few customizations and she did all of them. She also opened the store earlier than usual as I needed the food in the morning for the trip.Thank you Golden Joy!!
Went with my wife and kids ordered about 70 bux in food they made my wife and son wait 1 hour and 20 mins for rice some lemon chicken check the price that was maybe a half a chicken breast some hot and spicy soup and veggie…. Then on top of that we had to microwave my food when I got home witch was less then 3 mins away never order food from a place that favours Uber eats and makes a woman with hungry kids who ordered first have to go home and microwave the 80 bux worth of food….
We come here for excellent Chinese and info Chinese delicacies since 2018. We love this place and the food. The pandemic had us miss this place for a while but now we are back. And if can we will be here everyday. The food is fresh and authentic. They make it from scratch everyday. The owners are super friendly and hospitable. We like all the dishes but mostly they chilli chicken and fried rice.This is a heaving for momo/ dumpling lovers as well. Love love this place.
Dined in with the family for the first time and everything was worth the money. The food was so good and the servers were very friendly. Loved how the owner made us feel so welcomed. Highly recommended.
The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had (and I love even sub par Chinese food). Absolutely disgusting. Had a few bites because I was starving and had nothing else in the fridge and threw the rest right into garbage. ZERO stars. $40 something dollars in the garbage. These positive reviews MUST BE staged/bribed/fake. DO NOT GO HERE.
Looks like new owners and new menu prices. First experience was as good as the previous owners... hopefully it remains the same or gets better.
Excellent Chinese Hakka food restaurant. Real value for money. Very nice and helpful staff. I love their soups, noodles and fried rice. The best thing is they serve Halal food. Free parking available at all times. I go there regularly.
