Tasty food, great vibe and friendly staff! Would definitely recommend the 12-hour smoke brisket dinner!
Food was amazing, so was service. The only one area that could have given this location a fifth star, was the side plates were not clean, the server changed the plates.Good food and excellent service.
The waitress, waiter, supervisor and manager treated us like children. They constantly had to tell us to sit in our places or else the bill will be put under one big bill. If the staff doesn't have a procedure on how to bill separately because people choose to socialize, then they should take the customer's names. Other establishments can do it or have better trained staff that have good memory. They knew how to ruin a party's fun. But the staff was more than happy to take our money at the end. I also had to laugh when the waitress said their place was fine dining. I guess she doesn't get out much. The company I worked for had many parties at the Laird location. In fact, there were 2 parties on the same day last week. It'll only take the people at my party to get the word around to choose another venue for the next company event.
My girlfriend and I live close by and have dined here many times over the last few years. We've tried lots of different dishes across the menu and have never been disappointed. Service is always prompt and friendly, ice water always comes immediately, and the quality of the food is definitely above average both in presentation and portion sizing.Beer is plentiful as you'd expect for a brew house, but seems somehow "fresher" since this location is nearby the actual Amsterdam brewery (maybe I'm just convincing myself it's fresher) and surprisingly the cocktails aren't half bad either.The restaurant itself is visually quite spectacular and has lots of variety both inside and out on the patio, with cozy touches like fireplaces and water features.All in all this is likely one of the best gastropubs in the area and well worth a visit if you're looking for a solid meal at a decent price.
We were hugely disappointed in our evening at Amsterdam Barrel House. The hostess was unpleasant. The server was inattentive and inexperienced. It took quite awhile for water, and drinks, and. Finished dishes just sat on the table. The appetizer I ordered to come with my dinner came in time to be my dessert. The food was also mediocre. My burger had things I’d asked not to have, scraped off. But at least it was hot unlike my partner’s burger that was cold.It’s a wonderful space, but I’ll not be back.

Chef doesn't understand what vegan means. Butter is not vegan. Had their "vegan" soup yesterday and had gastrointestinal reaction to it. The vegetables in the soup must have been sautéed in butter ? Soup also arrived with butter on the sourdough toast, I didn't eat that as it was obvious!
My table and I just had the perfect experience at Amsterdam Barrel House! From the moment we walked in the host was informative and kept us up to date on what the wait time was, when we arrived at our table we were greeted with a huge smile from John M, who continued to provided exceptional service throughout our stay! He was very informative on the menu and continued to provide great recommendations on main dishes and desserts, and even went as far as providing water before we had to ask! We left with a smile on our face and asking each other when the last time we had a waiter that was that amazing! We all agreed that John M deserves a raise, and that we will be back for dinner!
The beer and food was good. But the service was absolutely next level. Our server was warm, welcoming, attentive, funny, fast... I can't say enough. I'll be sure to get her name next time. The service alone will keep me going back.
