We have stopped going to grain of salt due to the indescribably bad service. Shame as we like the food. I decided to see how home delivery was so ordered online at 17:15. It’s now 18:50 and still no food. Called restaurant. They said should be there in 15 minutes. That was 25 minutes ago! I will starve before I do business with them again!
Customer from way back. Food quality has steadily declined over the years. Not sure if it changed hands? Do not order delivery!! They said 40 min and an hour later they tell me it left 10 min ago then call me back 5 min later and offer 25% discount. LOST MY BUSINESS!
Visited with my team from work for lunch. It was excellent. We had their lunch special and it was I think $14 per person and it came with a lot. The food was great, the service was good, the ambience as well as good. Well spiced. I'll recommend for lunch or light dinner
They saved our night. Me and my friends were out for game it was about the time to Restaurant close and they didn't just let us in last moment they served us best, Including amazing recommendations about dishes to try. We had "Vegetable Maratha" it was spot on. Amazing experience and awesome service. Kudos to team working here.
Another classic Indian restaurant in Cambridge serving amazing dishes with ginormous portions to suit all taste buds. No excessive oil, no harsh flavours, just good old fancy Indian food with no-shenanigans in service.Don’tget swayed away by menu prices, the portions justify the prices completely and if you are the only one dining in or ordering out, the taste would make the price worth.Must visit in the Waterloo region, one of the best restaurant overall, not just for the Indian food.Keep up the good work.
The lunch menu was awesome, very economical with the opportunity to try lots of different dishes (including a neat lentil dish I wouldn’t have ordered myself). Only critique was that the vindaloo, the main dish I ordered and my favourite, did not taste great. Spice level was good though!
Have been coming to this Indian restaurant for ages. This was one of the oldest Indian restaurants in the KWC area with the most authentic tasting Indian food. Although there are a lot of Indian places close to Kitchener area now, I sometimes would still go all the way to Cambridge to eat at this place. I love their Lunch Special Thali (very budget-friendly) where you get to choose the ‘main’ curry and it comes along with some standard items in the plate. I have tried all of their non-vegetarian/seafood curries at some point and they all taste great but I wish they would marinate their chicken to make it as flavourful as the curry. Regardless, love the food here and will keep coming back for it. We also tried their Grain of Salt Special which is a combination platter of their tandoor appetizers. As always, the food is great.Had 1 negative take-out experience though - They once gave us Paneer instead of requested Chicken item but we found this when we got home. We called the restaurant and instead of being apologetic about their mistake or trying to make it right, they asked me to come next time to adjust the $2 difference. I’ve come across a lot of different restaurants who would go an extra mile to correct a mistake like this but the management here doesn’t care too much on that front.
First time dining here. Excellent taste close to authentic North Indian cuisine. The naan was freshly made. Service is a bit slow so a star less. But well behaved staff and clean interiors. Will dine again. This place won't disappoint for anyone looking for nearly authentic North Indian food.
Food is excellent. Not being rude but it’s just for your information, every servers needs to wash their cloths. Some foul smell when they come serve food. Deodorant would cheap and cheerful option. Hope this will help you to make customer’s experience pleasant.
We went there for a birthday celebration. What a disaster! Our orders were wrong, and took 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get to the table. We were informed after one hour, that our order was given to another table. We ordered drinks, and waited for about 20 minutes for the first round. Second round of drinks was not better. They took 30 minutes! This has been an issue, that was overlooked during my last 3 visits. Never to utilize this establishment again!
