Truly a hidden gem in the small town of Hespeler. This location is situated in such a charming and aesthetic part of downtown; it's right by the Grand River and beside other local vendors and small restaurants. The food itself was great. In the two times I've been there so far every one of their dish has consistently met or exceeded my expectations. The fried rice, even without any protein, was full of flavour and a great dish to have the next day as leftovers. The bulgogi hamburger was well seasoned and I loved the hamburger sauce.Service on both occasions was very timely and pleasant. They had a working knowledge of the daily specials and any dishes that were sold out.I cannot wait recommend this place to more visitors coming by my city, and I hope it gets the attention it truly deserves.

Real hidden gem in the village of Hespeler. The dishes we had really packed a punch in flavours and textures. Everything was fresh and authentic tasting.Staff were friendly and helpful making suggestions for our first visit. Will return!Note, the entrance is down the side of the building and towards the back when coming from the street.

Visiting from UK ?? I had Won ton Soup which was delicious and the Bulgogi Burger. The best tasting burger I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this place ?

I am a regular customer at Choun Kitchen, love the quaint historic building atmosphere, outdoor patio, free wifi access, and warmth of family and staff servers. Bobby the cook/owner does an amazing job, consistently preparing my favourites. Wonton soup, meatball soup, rice paper wraps with tofu or pork and vermicelli noodles with finely chopped veggies, garnished with peanut sauce, are my favourites. I tried the Banh Mi (baguette sandwich) once, which comes as a combo with wonton soup at almost half the regular soup price. I am eager to try their new Egg Noodle Soup, but the portion is huge with lots of ingredients (so I am told). The restaurant artwork is unique, some done by Bobby's niece. If you like elephants, these are part of the decor. Whether you live nearby or are visiting the area, this is a must see for eat-in or take out. What a huge asset to the Hespeler Village and district. A family run business. Homemade family recipes from Laos. If you just want beverages, these are available also....not your average coffee shoppe, but equivalent atmosphere. The Fashion Museum is across the street in the old historic former Canada Post Office and the restaurant is within walking distance of local shoppes. 10 minutes drive to the Highway 401 via Townline Road or Highway 24 exits. Come and visit on weekends for the Hespeler Village festival with street closure. Choun Kitchen is across the street from the Friday afternoon/evening summer market in front of the Old Town Hall. Washrooms are exceptionally clean and upscale. For disability access, a bit of a challenge. The hill down to their lower level is tough, but there is a sturdy handrail along the well-built wooden stairs to go down also.

Had lunch catered for 12 people and what an amazing job. Food is so good, presentation was beautiful and they delivered it direct to us. This place is authentic Asian cuisine and there is something for everyone. And we got free dessert! Only pic we got of the food as it was so good we dug in before snapping any shots.

Food was amazing! You could taste the freshness of the veggies used in the various meals I had. Had the fresh wraps, Bulgogi burger w wanton soup and churros. Each dish tasted delicious!I'd the say, the menu options are well priced. Had a 3 course meal for under $40.I wished the weather was better, because the patio looked very appealing.

We love Choun, especially the recent additions to the menu. We order take out from here pretty frequently and have tried almost 70% of the menu items lol all equally as good as the next. Last night we dined in with a party of 6. Food was even better fresh and everyone loved their dishes. We also tried one of the signature cocktails and bubble tea for the first time and they were amazing! I wish this place was more visible because it definitely doesn't get the attention it deserves in the slightly hidden location.

Choun Kitchen hosted a small reception for our family and the experience was amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful and our guests were delighted with the food. The appetizer platters were a big hit and everyone got to sample a variety of delicious items off their menu. Each guest selected their own entree followed by dessert, tea and coffee. The staff made this process super easy and had many wonderful suggestions. We were able to sit back and enjoy the party. Thank you for an amazing experience and many fun memories.

This is our second visit and again had a wonderful lunch The menu is both interesting and varied and has something for everyone. Choun will be on visit again list when we come again from Dublin Ireland

Found this because of its raving reviews and it did not disappoint. Opted for Banh mi for lunch and they were some of the best we've had. They came fully loaded, balanced and filling. The pork was fantastic and the fried chicken was even better. Crispy potatoes and soup were both great as sides. The place itself is really nice inside and the staff treats you like family. Will be back to try the rest on the menu!
