I like all menu items that I have had, the wait staff is incredible. Not that they sing and dance for you, but repeat visits they know your preferences, like what kind of eggs or whether you want coffee. Also, the wait staff does not butt in to your conversations, but they will talk with you if you want to chat, I asked about an old receipt they found in the basement and they talked about it.
I ate breakfast here recently with a friend. I saw some lineups here before early in the day, so I figured it's the place in Preston for a good Canadian breakfast.Unfortunately I was a little let down. The home fry potatoes with my breakfast special were quite dry, and lots of crunchy chunks on the plate as well. The tiny slice of pineapple looked unappetizing, but was sweet and tasty. Nothing else really worth mentioning. The eggs and toast were just eggs and toast. My companion had the porridge, which looked fine for portion, and was topped with apple slices. The restaurant does have a small front patio seating, and the interior is quaint and oldschool, as well as the service, no qualms there.I suppose prices are average. They have great $10 chicken, and pulled pork sandwich specials Tuesdays, and Fridays, respectively. This includes sides as well!I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Cambridge Restaurant for breakfast, as I was hoping would be the case as a good breakfast joint, but it will satisfy most.Definitely check out the specials mentioned above though.
Took well over an hour for our breakfast. It never came so we left.
I had the french toast, with a side of bacon. I paid 4 dollars for the side bacon, a dollar a slice. One of the 3 slices of French toast was still moist with egg on the inside, with quite the unpleasant texture. Taste wise, everything tasted good. The bacon was done perfectly, the two other slices of French toast were well done. I may go back again to try a different dish, but first I will save up some cash.
Always amazing food and super friendly staff
My family of 5 was staying in the area for a soccer tournament. We were headed back to the motel and found Cambridge Restaurant on Google maps with great reviews. The pictures make the place look very outdated, but since it was listed at almost 5 ⭐ I thought it was worth a try. As we walked in the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We ordered 3 different chicken burger meals and 2 kids meals. The chicken burgers were the best we'd ever had. My 2 little ones loved their meal as well. My husband kept talking about how amazing his food was while he was eating. The next day we recommend the restaurant to more people and wanted to go back again. If you're in the area I highly recommend going there for th,e chicken burger.

Saturday breakfast. It was around after 9am and the place was full. Service however was pretty fast although we had to call the server for coffee refills which is really not an issue. The coffee was good, the service excellent and the food already has us wanting to come backI had the French toasts with cheese and bacon. Those were excellent. I love the sweet and savory combinations so that was perfect for me. And my husband had the corn beef platter that was delicious too. Corn beef full of flavours! The only one thing that was not to our like was the home fries. Not a lot of taste and we though they might have been boiled first and the sprinkled w some spices but something was lacking. We are certainly returning and we can't wait. There are so many options and lots of bakery items too. Can't wait to try them all!
My son and I were in town to pick up some machinery. Stopped in for lunch. It was wonderful! Fresh cut fries done perfectly and real, home made burger patties. I also had the soup of the day; dill pickle soup. I know, sounds strange but it was delicious. The staff were warm and inviting and provided excellent service. The kind of experience that is fading all too fast in the modern world of chain restaurants and pretentious fancy dining rooms. If you haven't been here, you really should try it. A wonderful little restaurant!
Can't say enough about this spot. It's diner food, but elevated. Even their "classic" meals are kicked up a notch. They always have interesting and unique specials, everything is cooked from scratch and presented with care, and their fresh cut fries are to DIE for. The staff are incredibly nice and make you feel welcome, whether you're a new or repeat customer. Do yourself a favour and support this local restaurant.
