We were starving so we ordered 2 pho and lamb skewer. But depite the fact we were starving, we couldnt finish our orders. First of all, i know there is shortage in sriracha sauce these days, so they r not using it which i understand. But they r not using proper hoisin sauce(dark brown) either. The lamb skewer was terrible. It was not grilled. It was boiled lamb meat in skewer. It was so tough zero juicyness. Anyhow it was boiled meat. Most important part of all is pho. Pho soup was full of MSG, u can just taste all that in ur throat. I do not understand how they have such a high rating. Everything was fake. I can see all their milkshakes and all are from powder. U can simply see them all behind the bar anyways. We r coming back there ever.
At best its 3 stars now, seem to be skimping out on ingredients now I counted maybe 5 tiny bean sprouts in my pad thai and barely any tofu or chicken. It was also pretty spicy for ordering a mild. Not sure if it was just a off day but I find the Kitchener location is better.
I think this resturant has the best fried spring roll and fresh shrimp roll. I have been to many asians resturant, and this is so far the best for spring rolls. The price is reasonable as well. Quick service and very clean inside. I dont have the picture of spring rolls.
In and out. Quick and tasty food, although portions are humongous. Try before ordering more.My Pad Thai was lacking in enough chicken and I am normally used to nuts on top.Chicken wings are massive, even as starters.Be hungry when you go here.
My go to place for Asian comfort food! Had my usual: beef red curry with rice , always spicy and flavourful with eggplant & bamboo shoot and the young coconut juice. So so good. Service could be a bit better as we had to flag our waitress down several times but the food keeps me coming back :)
Ben Thanh Viet Thai RestaurantA Review by Hassan HawashA Great Tasty Flavourful MealWe were initiated to this fine family dining establishment by way of tucking into my missus’ luncheon leftover takeaway of Tom Yom Soup, red shrimp curry and a salad not too too long ago and were pretty well hooked from that time.We finally decided on a time to experience this establishment’s culinary delights in a dine in setting. Upon stepping through the reception, where we were greeted by our Vietnamese host, there was that evocative aroma, the ever so reminiscent trademark scent, with strong aromatic components wafting from the kitchen oh so typical of Thai restaurants I found myself at in the land of smiles.Soon after being seen to our table, we were presented with our menus and order forms. Our young son, 10, enjoyed the activity of filling in the order form taking stock of the choices we made after a very thorough look at all the tempting offerings on the menu. Nice little feature to fill in our own menu, but at this dine in experience the prices were listed. One order of Tom Yom Soup, a pretty close match to dining in Asia, was good for the three of us. We also shared the papya salad which was a little spicy, but just enough to tingle your lips. Shrimp Pad Thai and a vegetable tofu dish rounded out our choices. On all accounts, our choices did not disappoint, left us raving about our deliciously tasty mini buffet and again reminded us of our visits to Thailand. The serving sizes are so generous we had takeaway for a meal the next day.
I visited this restaurant several years ago when visiting my sister in Canada and loved the food and friendly service. What has happened?! The service is virtually non existent and, whilst we made allowances for this given the challenges Covid has presented, there are no excuses for the food. It bears absolutely no relation to Thai food. Our Pad Thai was a big soggy mess of noodles sodden in a cheap tomato sauce. It was as far removed from a real Pad Thai as possible to be. Although we all chose different meals we all ended up leaving them half eaten and had to stop off at a take away on the way home. A complete waste of money.
The best pho I've ever come across. Everytime I come back to Cambridge I indulge in this delicious soup!!
First time here. I ordered take out chicken pad thai. It was not bad and the portion was reasonable. I would order again
Food was really good. I wish they helped a bit with the selection more. A lot of selection.
