Server and other wait staff were excellent.Food was not good. My friend ordered a Margarita Pizza. It arrived undercooked and topped with mint instead of basil. The server offered to remake the pizza, however we couldn’t wait any longer (partially our fault for chatting so much, however we got our food over 40 minutes after the order was taken). We asked to have the mint removed, basil placed on the pizza instead and to be cooked longer. It was better, however required more baking to have a well cooked crust. The pizza ended up being no charge which was appreciated and appropriate. My mixed green salad (small $11 with chicken breast additional $8) was jammed into a small bowl making it difficult to eat without spilling it. There was very little salad dressing, not well tossed. The chicken breast was dry and chewy. I do not recommend the salad.I am hoping that the chef was having a bad day. I have eaten at the Port Credit location and enjoyed my food. Not sure that I will return.
I don't normally write reviews, but unfortunately I have to for this past visit. My wife and I thought we'd give Port House a try the other day. Immediately there was no one to greet us at the front of the house, to which, once I located her, was informed there was a 15 min wait. No worries, we said we'll grab a drink at the bar. Nice service from the bartender who appeared to be the only person engaged with guests. After waiting another 15min, we asked if we could take one of the tables on the patio, as there were a few empty. The bartender complied by letting the front of the house know our intentions. When presented with menus, which arrived dirty, we began to scan our options. Lots of staff hanging out by the bar, or around the patio, but no greeting at our table as of yet. I understand that due to the past couple of years, restaurants have lost revenue, but at the prices (9.75/pint of Canadian beer) on the menu, you'd expect some keen service, even a 'sorry we're really busy, do you mind waiting'. Nothing again after another 15 min. We left. Went to one of our local restaurants, had awesome service and a great meal. With that, I hope Port House will take this as a learning curve to avoid another bad review.
The service was fantastic, our server went above and beyond to ensure we had a great night. She went outside the business to make sure we had ingredients for a specific drink order :) We had our company get together , and the atmosphere was awesome. The food was great and the the kitchen staff had our orders out quickly . The view from our table was awesome . All together our party was extremely happy with everything. Would recommend the port house to everyone
Generous AppsGreat views! (Looks baren when you walk in, but quite dece t inside)W joyed the fish and chips and chicken appetizer.
Dave was amazing. He treated us phenomenally and made our night exceptional. He quickly made us feel warm and welcome. I want to thank Dave, Gerrel and Austin for making our night amazing. This vibe was great and we had so much fun! Being in the restaurant industry we appreciate the hospitality! Cheers from the Chop Family!
Awesome location, with a view right by the lake and pier! Ambiance was so on theme and everything went together cohesively. Food was GREAT and servers were super sweet! Their fries were cooked to perfection, will definitely be returning once the weather gets warmer so we can sit on the outdoor patio!
The location is great, the food was good nothing. I had the steak frites with parmesan fries. It was delicious. The white sangria was also very good.My friends enjoyed this meals as well. The classic burger comes with fries. 1 person ordered the veggie burger and she didn't enjoy it.
Great view and descent food, this social bar and restaurant is right on lakeshore with a view of lake Ontario, a nice size patio and friendly staff. They have vegan and kid friendly options as well.
Very disappointed with the customer service. we had a reservation to celebrate an occasion at 9 pm. I called and informed one of the staff that we will be late for 30 minutes. She confirmed that she will hold the table for us and even if not, there are tables available. so we are fine. We were there at 9:30 pm. The lady at the reception said that she was not able to hold our reservation and there is no table available!!! I reminded her that she promised to have a table for us but she simply said sorry!!! with no care! She said we can sit at the bar and as soon as a chair available she will call us and take us there. although we didn't want to ruin our special night we accepted. Then the bar tender told us we can't be moved and we only can sit at the bar for 40 minutes and have to leave after!!!! We have been there many times but recently there are new young staff that they are really unprofessional and rude to more mature costumers; they mainly walk around and mingle with younger customers instead of doing their job and be professional like the older staff that they served us before. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BAR TO MATURE COUPLES WHO ARE LOOKING TO HAVE A SPECIAL NIGHT AND DEMAND A GOOD PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
All started off fine. Long wait after placing our drink order. So, we placed our lunch order of appetizers when the drinks finally arrived. Food fInally arrived. It was presented nicely, but the truffle fries were dried out. The chicken wings were over cooked. The salad was fine. Our waiteess never came back to check on us. We left the fries, and some of the wings thinking the next one would be better, We kept watching for her to let her know the quality wasnt there, but she was not checking our tables in our area. Finally after we went to the bar to ask for our bill and to say we did not like the truffle fries, and we were informed they would be removed off the bill. After she brought our bill she asked "over all was it alright?" I said no, and this was our first visit to the Port House restaurant . At this time she had the opportunity to turn things around, but did not offer what should have been done. Very dissappointed with this restaurant. Our first and last visit there. The sad point was......they were not even busy.
