If I could give no stars I would. How this place has a high rating...ordered the mushroom risotto: risotto was dry. mushrooms were crunchy. meal was totally bland.gnocchi: covered in pepper. basically inedible.spaghetti for my daughter: loaded with cracked black pepper to the point where it hurt my child to eat it. bland tomato sauce.I would be ashamed if this was my restaurant.High ratings are from people who have never eaten Italian food in their life.
An amazing restaurant, great friendly atmosphere and service. The place is large with many seating options between inside and the patio. Patio is covered and has warmers. The scenery from to patio is so relaxing as it looks directly in to a big park. Food is great, burger is jucy and burst in flavor, big portion, if you like kale, the kale Ceasar salad is delicious. All in all an amazing experience in a cheerful environment. Recommended to do a reservation, specially over weekend as the restaurant gets pretty packed. Good thing is that it is in a plaza so no parking problem
Every time I come here there is an issue which makes me frustrated and not want to come back. Today I had a lunch and I had got a bad drink which the server easily replaced which I appreciated. I got a nice gluten free pizza and got a take out container to take my other half home. I walked out forgetting it on the table and not two minutes later when I realized came directly back. It turns out they had already thrown it away despite the restaurant nearly being empty and no need to rush cleaning. Consider waiting 10-15 minutes before throwing away your guest's expensive and specialized pizza.
I don't know. I hate complaining as much as I hate leaving bad reviews, but with so many great pizza places to choose from I wasn't expecting the ball to be dropped so hard. We left disappointed. I'm not convinced the crust wasn't frozen or store bought. Thin, dry, no flavor. It had the taste, appearance and texture of a water cracker and all 3 pizzas looked exactly the same - as you might expect from a mass produced product.
My husband and I took our closest friends to the Express on lakeshore to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We booked off of the group menu (groups 10 and up). The food was not only delicious but also we we given generous portions - everyone left with some food to take home! My favourite was the mushroom risotto. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was perfect! We sat looking out to the lake and enjoyed a great evening together. Only thing I can say to be critical is that the name of the restaurant is deceiving - could use a rebrand ?
The food and service was excellent. The portions are great. I have enough left over for lunch and dinner today. I would suggest the prefixed menu. Great value.
The ambiance was lovely. We got a table at the window which overlooked the water. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The bruschetta and green salad were delicious, but the lettuce looked a tad wilted. The fettuccine was cut way too thick (it has a texture of gnocchi), and the chicken that I added was dry and lacked flavour. The white wine cream sauce really redeemed my meal. The food came out steaming hot (literally, steam coming from the food) which made me think of Gordon Ramsay who said if a plate of food comes out with steam, then it was microwaved. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. My husband enjoyed his spaghetti with shrimps in a lemon white wine sauce. He gave it a 7/10.
Four of us for dinner last night, convenient for us to meet up. Three of us had tasting menu, so much food. The Salad was amazing, the pastas were very good especially the fettucini . The carrot cheesecake was excellent but the Tiramisu in the jar was not. The server was very good and we will come back. Parking in the area is not easy.
Ordered a meat pizza and calzone…first time eating here as we are big pizza and Italian food fans…so calzone was a big loaf of baked bread with very little cheese and tons of not great tasting pepperonis.. marinara was straight from a prego jar…pizza was white to the point of just barely cooked and was quite cold…got a free brownie which if I paid 8 bucks for I’d be hopping mad it was like an undercooked piece of cake dough….paid a bunch for this meal and literally wished we had ordered from someplace else in town that we knew would deliver on decent quality meal….believe me I’m not about giving bad reviews but this was sub par…pizza boxes are fancy tho…homemade sauce more cheese and toppings and cooked longer could have made the difference
We have been doing takeout from this restaurant, especially through the pandemic. Never had anything but a perfect meal. It's also the best pizza ever! They're doing a reno now, so in person dining experience will be even better soon.
