We agreed on a 3 star due to the following reasons....1. Our table was NOT wiped down and it was very sticky... had to ask 3 times for our table to be wiped down.2. The service overall was slow. Our waitress seemed to be more Interested in younger couples and often disappeared and she could not be located.3. There was supposed to be a live band playing but I think starting at 10pm is a little late.... maybe starting at 9pm would have been better, and customer's would have shown up a lot sooner. Certainly we would have stayed much later than we did.We won't be going back.
I have wanted to try this pub for years. The food was excellent and service was great but the floor was terribly sticky. When walking up to the bathroom I thought my shoe was going to get stuck on the floor and a couple of other customers mentioned the stickiness too. The floors, tables and menus could be washed better. Don't think we'll be back for dine in at least.
Wait time was a bit on the longer side but the food was good, they where able to accommodate a party of five and a peanut allergy.
This is definitely a pub, and with very good food. It's one of the older establishments in the area and you get that vibe when going in. But it has been a solid option for good food at a good price. We had lunch on the patio and as always the hospitality was fantastic as was the food. Always worth the stop.
Authentic and awesome pub in a great location downtown. Very nice selection of draft beers. Great to see live music.
Sorry don't like writing this kind of review to be honest. But after careful consideration and knowing the times we are in. In good conscience I felt it warranted.While the staff was excellent with us. Honestly all of them were. And the food was good that we had. It was pub food done right.The issue my cousin had, was with the washrooms. They were upstairs and half way up as she was going. The smell was awful. Nature was calling so she went. I will not publish the descriptive. I will tell you the smell was warranted.How long it had been like that was obviously some time. My cousin did tell the staff they were out of paper towels as they were. But truly it was in hopes of getting someone up there to clean the washrooms.Truly sorry I felt the need to write this. But in today's times. This is an absolute dead stop for me. Cleanness is a must. So for this reason we shall not return in the near future.You sure were nice folks. And the food was good. But....it's a no go for us.
I get either fish and chips or some form of a hamburger whenever I go here. Along with a salad. Service is polite, friendly, and attentive. I have Sunday lunch there about once a month. I havent noticed any evidence of uncleanliness. Disappointed to see so many negative reviews. I may go twice this week!
Kayla is the most welcoming, kind, funny, friendly server slash hospitality extraordinary! I love how authentic and down to earth she is, and I feel so comfortable around her, which makes me stay where I am for that much longer! We were at the Dickens last Thursday for dinner and had the best experience. Our server Kendra was amazing. She recommended some great beers, and food. I had the butter chicken and my husband had the fish and chips, both were absolutely delicious! Kendra was very kind and regularly checked in to make sure we were doing okay. I would highly recommended visiting the Dickens if you haven’t already. Excellent service and food. Thanks for a great evening and thank you Kendra!
I am a regular here. Up until tonight this was my favorite night spot in Burlington. I understand that Friday's and Saturdays nights are extremely busy. When I finally made it to the bar I waited another 20 minutes or so, while I watched the server serving people that had just got to the bar. By passing me multiple times. My blood was boiling so I left. I will not be back. Terrible service. You have a long time and good paying customer.
