Very nice place. Friendly service and great coffee
I used to frequent this business when I lived in Burlington 4 years ago and found the coffee very good. Yesterday I was back in town for the day and decided to treat myself to a Hand pour for Old Times Sake. The Barista working that morning seemed way more interested in staring at her phone then serving me a coffee. No greeting, just looking at me like what the heck do you want? I asked for a Hand Pour, which was listed on the Chalk Board behind her. She says no, we are not doing hand pours. Pardon? We only have drip. Really? She just stares back at me. Was she just to lazy to make it? I said okay and I got whatever was in the metal urn. I paid, and still left a tip. No thank you, No have a nice day, no the sugar and lids are right over there, just back on her phone. The coffee was no better than the dreck you would get at a cafeteria. I drank half and threw the rest out. No wonder there was a help wanted sign in the window, because they do need some help.
So let's review the coffee not the politics! Thanks for making a good brew. Whatever your personal convictions are, that's on you. Just like my convictions are on me. I love your coffee and that's the whole point ?? love you guys. Keep bringing us unique brews to kick the big corporations like sbux to the curb. Support small business!!!!
I've been coming to Tamp Coffee at both locations, Pine Street and Brant St, and the coffee is fantastic! If you are looking for the sour burnt taste of Starbucks, don't come here. The coffee at Tamp is smooth enough that you won't be 10% cream and sugar to make it taste good. The staff and the owner are SUPER friendly!
So I've started popping in here once a week or so when I need a "good" coffee in the afternoon. The espresso drinks have been solid and totally up to a high standard. Hence the second star. But here's the thing that just turned me off them: the owner. Let me explain.I came in today and on my way walking there, I saw this guy in a pickup truck park in a very clearly marked "no parking" zone and mount the curb while doing it. I had just spent five minutes circling the block to find a legal spot myself. The guy comes into the store after me, no mask in sight (not even the chin diaper lip service) and walks around the place, talks to the barista and takes off.I asked who that was, and was told "the owner." The guy chose not to wear a mask inside his own store while two customers and the barista were there, and parked illegally. This is not a political thing about being in favour of masks or not, this is about a guy who broke two bylaws in 5 seconds at his own store. I think I'll head somewhere else from now on. Too bad.
Great atmosphere, delicious baked goodies (when you can get them!), coffee by the pound, chemx, drip, espresso and a selection of teas. One of the few independent coffee shops in Burl, worth the visit. It's my go to spot for coffee dates.
What a great coffee spot! I recently craved some real coffee and saw this spot. I went in and was greeted from the amazing staff. I tried their cappuccino and my coffee craving had been satisfied. Smooth roast from the bean freshly grounded, creamy taste of the hot frothed milk and once you combine them both ohh boy its delicious. One last thing, they make designs with the frothed milk. AWESOME SPOT!!!
Great coffee, amazing staff, great atmosphere
Great coffee, but for whatever reason the staff at both locations (at least when I've been in) don't seem overly pleased or personable.. ??♂️You'd expect that a barista, like a bartender, would be a bit more up beat and sociable.
The coffee itself is good, but I've found the service to be a bit unfriendly.Almost like you're asking them to do you a favour begrudgingly, as opposed to you paying them for a product / service ...Maybe I just had bad luck in terms of service the few times that I've been. But definitely doesn't make me want to go back frequently.
