I was told on the phone thatthere were plenty $4.99 watermelons left, so when I arrived at Sobeys an hour later there were none left! I asked a kid in the back if there were more & he said no. I was not a happy customer!I jokingly asked another employee passing by if I could get the huge $12.99 watermelon for $4.99 instead & without any hesitation while picking up a big heavy one, he said, 'Absolutely', put a $4.99 sticker on it & said if I have any trouble at checkout then just say Eric said it was OK.Eric is the Assistant Manager & he even came to the check out to tell the cashier that the watermelon I was buying was marked $4.99.Who does that these days??NOW, that's what customer service really means & I greatly appreciated the way in which he handled this! Good service is lacking in so many businesses, so it was great that someone proved that it can still be done in a professional & courteous manner!!I can only give Eric 5 stars & a good review, but I'd rather he get a raise or a General Manager position!Thank you again Eric, for your wonderful service & help!
Visited the Deli/HMR Department today and had the most wonderful pre-made sandwich. However, I was met with an unprofessional clerk. I kindly asked her to cut the sandwich in half so my boyfriend and I can share the sandwich. I was told in a very curt manner "You better buy the sandwich". The clerk huffed at me and grab the sandwich to cut it in half. My boyfriend saw my reaction and decided to speak up for me and notify the clerk of her unprofessional behaviour. She then laughed at him disingenuously and gestured at him to shoe away. Definitely not going back to this department ever again.
I'm always impressed with this store. However, todays visit was a tad disappointing. I only went in to grab 2 items. Both out of stock! I was able to grab something similar plus a few extra item. I can't pass without grabbing some fresh already prepared fruit and vegetables. Although I'm paying more, I do enjoy this occasional treat for the family.
What's wrong with you guys? You can no longer afford 5 cent bags? How do you expect your customers to place a BREAD!!! in a dirty bag area with no bag??? Pervious years you successfully got rid of your cashiers, now you removed all bags. What's next? Customers themselves? I hope you'll give up this spot to some reputable grocery chain ASAP.
Sometimes overpriced, but then I guess that's the cost of being able to shop at all hours. The store is clean and inviting and the food is fresh.
Expensive, quality not good and not much variety. I use this store for emergency only as its the closest to my home. Open 24 hours is great.
Love this supermarket!! They always have something that cannot be found on other places, such as pretzels ina huge plastic jar and they are very good! The cashiers and workers are very helpful!!
Gorgeous supermarket, especially the deli and produce area! Some tempting foods are on offer, but very pricey! Don't go when you are hungry! Not as well staffed as Fortinos but better hours, so a good option for better quality foods.
I would like to say a big thank-you to the bakery Department for making this Elvis cake for my Friends 60th birthday, it was a huge hit. Everyone at work loved it. Thanks.
To start the staff were a little rude, you had produce that was mislabeled, and lastly you have your produce priced by the lbs but your self check out carts are priced by kg. Might want to organize your store better.
