Love this place, yes it's very dated, needs a lick of paint, but the fish and chips are great, good value for money and service is great too, all in all, 5 stars
Not sure if its a new owner or what, but I used to order from this place all the time. After a long break, I came back and its not that its changed and I don't like change... its that it's genuinely BAD.The fish was barely battered... without exaggeration, about 50% of the fish was basically bare. The batter looks like someone poured oil on a flat pan. It covers but with a bunch of holes/bare spots. Its also VERY greasy now and fish is overcooked.Lastly... dont expect to have some tartar sauce for every bite. Its like they were running out and didnt want to put more than a packet per piece of fish
I ordered a small onion ring (10 pieces) and an ice tea. I liked: the ketchup dish and the images of Ireland adorning the walls. I disliked: the excessive greasy batter on the rings--but that's just me.
I moved from Burlington 15 years ago now and just looked up my favourite fish and chip shop EVER. I will be coming that way soon and will be dropping in for lunch/ dinner. I’m so excited

Excellent haddock and chips. Better than other places we’ve tried in Burlington. Generous portions, nice light batter. Definitely will be back .
Been going to the sea shanty for 40 plus years. Still the best fish and chips place in town. Nobody else does it like that anymore!
The new owner, while extremely friendly, isn't great at cooking fish and chips. Not sure if it's oil temp or something else, but the fish and chips were very greasy and overcooked.Sadly, my favorite fish and chip shop is no longer the same and we won't be going back.
We had fish and chips last night and it was the best we have had in a long time! Delicious crispy haddock and perfectly cooked chips! Excellent!
