This was my first time trying out this place, and I am truly impressed. I ordered the beef Mac and cheese and the catfish po boy. The beef on the Mac and cheese was so tender and the bbq sauce was amazing. The Mac and cheese was good as well. I really enjoyed the catfish. It was seasoned well and pretty crispy even though I didn’t eat it right away. Overall a great experience, and I’d eat here again.
THIS RESTAURANT WAS ACTUALLY VERY DELICIOUS. THE FOOD WAS VERY FLAVOURFUL ESPECIALLY THE HEALTHY SLICE OF CORNBREAD (WHICH WAS NOT OVER SWEETENED). ALSO I LOVED THE PULLED PORK SANDWHICH. IT NORMALLY COMES JUST WITH THE MEAT AND BUN BUT THE SERVER WAS KIND ENOUGH TO SUGGEST TOMATO AND LETTUCE. THE MALE SERVER WAS VERY KIND AND SHOWED TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTICES. THE RESTAURANT WAS ALSO CLEAN BUT MORE OF A TAKE OUT PLACE NO SEATS AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES ON THERE GOOGLE PAGE. DEFINETLY WILL BE RETURNING.
Ordered here soon after it opens in the afternoon. Had very high expectations going in, I've heard a lot about RD's BBQ.Staff was very kind, it's a small spot, pleasant atmosphere. Order of brisket and half rack ribs took 15 mins to prepare. Not bad.Brisket: Was excellent! Decent tenderness and great taste. I just felt like going back for more pieces. It seemed like a small quantity for a price tag of $21, but eating just two of the ~8 slabs of brisket was quite satisfying.Half rack of pork ribs: Could've been more tender. With all due respect I've had more tender ribs at Swiss Chalet. The taste was great, the flavors were all there and it was still easy to eat and enjoy.The sides were solid. Fries and coleslaw were as expected. I'm new to baked beans and they're not really my style of beans... too sweet. Sweetness is not a taste I expect in beans, makes it taste cheap in my opinion. I prefer the red bean dishes also made in the south.All in all, it was a good experience. The brisket is worth coming back for, I will definitely keep an eye on RD's BBQ.All the best to the staff and owners.
Thank you RD for a wonderful meal! I ordered the 6-10 person meal package takeout for my kids birthday party. The owner was very nice. The food was fantastic, everything arrived home piping hot. The meats were juicy, cornbread was moist and individually packed. Portions were very generous compared to other bbq joints in the gta. Would order again.
If you are looking for a Southern BBQ Restaurant with fresh food and amazing service, I highly recommend you come to RD's Southern BBQ! I had a conversation with the nice lady who served me my pickup order and it being one of my first times there she gave me a complimentary drink - RD's Sweet Tea, that is a family recipe, which was so good and I really appreciate.I got the chicken and shrimp over rice order and the food was steaming hot and fresh. I will definitely be a new regular for this great family owned Restaurant! Great service and amazing food!
Not a true southern style BBQ.Meat lacked smoke flavor, bark and tenderness that you would expect from smoking meat (I have doubts they are even smoking the meat)Ordered ribs, brisket and wings, all were tough. Ribs and wings were tough and dry. Brisket was bit tough as you would expect to be able to easily pull it a part.Mac + Cheese was good.
Iv been coming here for almost a decade and this is still on my Mount Rushmore of Restaurants to go to. Not only is the food exceptional, the friendly service and family feel is what knocks it out the park. John, Petra and the whole family are amazing!
Customer service is fantastic! Got the loaded Mac & cheese with fried chicken & a brisket sandwich… unbelievably good! The Mac is seasoned to perfection & the brisket melts in your mouth. Go to this place now!
Food is amazing!! I've already told several people to try here. Best beans I've had in my life. The Mac and cheese is to die for. Ribs, poboy, brisket everything is blessed. Looking forward to my next visit and trying everything???
Damn delicious! Honestly did not expect to find this fantastic southern/creole food in Brampton.We got beef ribs and half chicken - both were way better than the stuff I've had at various Toronto Ribfests, Cherry St BBQ, Northern Smoke's or Adamson's. I don't know what they put in their side of beans but it was downright addictive.Shrimp Po-Boy was nice, but the portion a bit on the smaller side. Brisket poutine on the other hand was massive and really good. We've also tried the Gumbo - it's tasty but I don't really have a standard to compare it to given the limited creole joints in the GTA.Halal options available. Just so happy to have this gem close by!
