Best in Brampton as always. Few locations in this city and all so good and so consistent and great customer service. Can’t go wrong here
Ordered 9.75 takeout special. Portion is good. Taste ok with a bit oil smell.
Haven't visited in a few years. Was very happy to see that the food is still amazing, grilled pickerel was delicious with steamed veggies done perfectly. The service is top notch as always. Kristy you outdid yourself.
Customer ServiceLacking We decided t have fish & chips and onion rings for supper this evening. Our first thought was Heritage Fish and Chips at 295 Queen. However, we wanted to pick up and eat at home rather than in the restaurant. Knowing that every time we visited the takeout it was busy and had to wait a good deal of time, this time we called in our order for pickup. The woman. answering the phone had me wait 2-3 minutes before coming back on the line. She then took the order and confirmed the site we would be picking up the order, and took our name. She said it would be ready for pickup in 10-15 minutes. This was fine as we live about 15 minutes away by car. Arrived 12 minutes later and gave my name to the counter lady. She asked what we ordered, then proceeded to place the order on her terminal and told me the price. No problem, right. Well as I was paying I noticed the order was relayed to the cook who started to cook the fish and onion rings. Result, waited as long as we would have if the order was not called in. Questioned the delay and was told “it is Saturday you know”. Actually it was Friday. No apology for not having the order prepared before we arrived. Clearly, customer service / satisfaction is not included in the staff training program.
Cod was amazing!! Perfect batter and not greasy!! Hubby is from Belfast and he had Belfast pastie said it was great!! We love food here! And extra treats at the front! Back hame treats!!!
This place changed their portion sizes of fish and chips by almost half the amount and when asked is this a kids size or a full size I was told it’s always been the same as well as the box size hasn’t changed which is a lie! The owner is rude as hell and doesn’t give two shits about their customers! I paid almost $20 for a cod and chips order plus a small coleslaw. Only to get home and see how small my order was! Never again supporting this business.

Hi everyone this is Chris from Poor Man's Kitchen. The atmosphere here is welcoming, like your coming home for dinner. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food here was cooked to perfection. I had the Fisherman's platter, it comes w/ 4 pcs of scallops, 4pcs of shrimp, 2 pcs of halibut and 2 pcs of cod. With a side of onion rings and coleslaw. The fish, scallops and shrimp were moist not rubbery and the coleslaw was out of this world, light and tasty. All the fish just melted in your mouth with goodness. I fully recommend this restaurant to everyone. The price was perfect for the amount of food you get. I ate twice with this meal. God bless and thank you.
The food is always perfect here, no complaints. But our waitress today didn't even make eye contact with us. She behaved as if we all had covid. It was not a relaxing visit at all. She came over to the table, looked above me not at me, and took our order super quickly. She barely smiled. She did not come to check on us to see how the meal was going. We felt like she didn't enjoy her job and this created a restless feeling. I go there a lot but on my last visit (5 May, 2022) my family was given dirty water glasses. Very disappointed. Waitress did change them when I pointed out but they should not have been served in the first place.I always order 6 oz haddock but I have noticed that there portion is much smaller now. Before I used to get I half fillet and small piece to complete 6 oz but nowadays its only 1 half fillet which I can tell is not 6 oz. I hope they improve because I really I liked the place.
