A recent wing experience reminded me to write about the best ones that I had in the GTA. This shout out goes to Green Bites! Don't judge a book by its cover. In this case, don't be fooled by its title as a dumpling & tea bar restaurant as the chef owner knows how to make some fantastic Asian-style wings!What's special about Green Bites' wings, you ask? The chicken basket comes topped in assorted colours from the garnishes. Not only are the wings perfectly fried in a light HK-style egg batter, it is also garnished with jalapeño, red pepper, onion and basil for a little kick & aroma. Crispy, well-seasoned & all-around delightful. It's the must-order item.We dined in the outdoor patio, and ordered several of their popular dumplings as well. We weren't able to order their coloured varieties due to the limited menu for the day. Plenty of filling were in the handmade Pork and Shrimp-Vegetable Dumplings. Not spectacular but they arrived alongside house 'dragon' sauce (chillies, soy sauce & vinegar) for extra flavour.Green Bites even operates as a tea bar, if you are into the Asian tea tradition. We couldn't quite pin down a specific region for the food flavour as there seemed to be many influences. The restaurant is a little out of the way in a corner of Brampton. If you happen to be in town, it's worth coming by for a bite.
I had the chicken dumplings previously and was very good. Today I ordered sesame chicken and chicken chow menu noodles through Uber eats and it was also very good. Would prefer a little more flavour and veggies in the noodle as it was a little plain. But overall I like the balance taste and that it taste fresh. I highly value freshness. I didn’t get any fortunes cookies or soya sauce on the side and it would have been nice if I did.
The food is amazing and very fresh. The staff/owners are extremely friendly and are very appreciative that you came to their restaurant. There was 4 of us and had the dinner for 4 and it was a lot of food and everyone loved the food. Our friends had not been there before but said they would definitely go back as the food, staff and atmosphere was so good.
We’ve visited Green Bites many times for lunch and dinner and every single time we’ve been here, the Food has been some of the absolute best Chinese cuisine we have ever had. It’s a small and intimate setting good for friends and family and the service is quick, friendly and again the food is out of this world. If you haven’t been you need to try at least once. I guarantee it won’t be your only time.
I usually order take out from here so I can only speak about that, but my experience here has been great so far! Food is always ready on time and the quality of the food is amazing! I personally really like their pan fried pork or shrimp-veggie dumplings. Would totally recommend!
A family member wanted dumplings for their birthday and Green Bites (30 minutes away) was the best reviewed resto I could find.No one was disappointed with any dish ordered and the price per person was very fair.
Food here is amazing!! As a vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the amount of options I had. Any sauce/style that meat dishes came in, there was a meat alternative option, which was delicious. The dumplings are an absolute must! One of my favourite restaurants in Brampton. Highly recommend, especially for vegetarians. I heard they have dumpling making classes, hopefully they come back when it's safe due to the pandemic.
Absolutely delicious! Dumplings were bigger than expected, veg noodles ummm and soy chicken was a treat!
Ordered the pork dumplings, fried rice and their Singapore noodles for take out. Great service, quick turnaround and the food was delicious. It was my first time there and I will definitely go back to try the other items on the menu.
Beautiful restaurant with yummy Chinese cuisine. The dumplings here are super juicy and flavourful, be sure to get the pan fried pork dumplings!The staff here is very friendly and were very accommodating to our party. Will definitely be coming back.
