I must say...almost didn't want to review them so that it could be my little secret spot! Without a doubt one of the best Jamaican spots I've been too in a while.Been here multiple times and tried everything from the jerk chicken to the curry goat and it smashes every tastebud I have each time. I'm pretty sure this is the Canadian Kristy Krab cause they gotta have some secret formula to make their food so good.Don't forget the hot sauce so good it'll knock your socks, shoes and everything else off!All the workers are super friendly and they deserve every bit of business they can get!
Great prices so ill be coming back.Ordered a beef soup today have to say it was a 2/5. It wasn't hot,watery,1 pc of beef and a huge chunk of cassava.Ordered curry chicken and rice before it was 5/5.I would come back for other dishes.
The best jerk chicken, ever. If you've ever stopped at the side of the road for jerk chicken in Jamaica, you would understand why I'm praising Bakers' Jerk House. They also offer chicken breast which many Jamaican restaurants don't. I also appreciated how clean the establishment is and that I didn't have to wait long for my order. It's also nice to see the chef wearing a uniform. I'll be a repeat customer.
Place caught my eye from before. A friend of mine referred me to it. Told me, portioning was a lot and service was good. Some half asleep worker came out of the kitchen to take my order. Caught the vibe that he really didn’t care about what he was doing. I’ve been to a lot of Jamaican restaurants. This one…all bling, no soul. Ordering in person here, was like ordering from a teenager who works at McDonald’s. Simply don’t care how they reflect the company they are representing.
Unfortunately I have no photos to go along with my meal because I ATE THAT DELICIOUSNESS SO FAST. I got my regular order; jerk chicken, pasta salad and sides of festival and dumpling and lemme telllll ya it is so perfect every single time. I will eat that meal hot, I will eat that meal cold. it is so good, must try spot! and beautifully priced!!
Found this place recently, prices are reasonable and food is great ?
Ordered off door dash for pick up from this location.food was properly packed and ready for pick up.We ordered two large jerk chicken meals and one large goat curry.I had the goat curry which i haven't had in a very long time and was really happy with the size and portion. I wish that the pasta salad was on the side vs being mixed into the rice but it was fine.i didn't realize i could ask for more spice - next time i will.My brother and my mom got the chicken meal and said they really enjoyed it. the chicken was cooked with enough tenderness and the sauce (one was goat curry and the other was oxtail) added great flavour as well.
I wouldn't eat here again. Ordered a small ox tail and a soup for me and my husband......the meat needed to cook for at least 2 more hrs. It was so tuff I couldn't eat it and their was absolutely no flavour to it at all? the rice tasted like it was cooked the night before and was left on the counter till the next day. And as for the soup...... I don't have words to express how horable it was..... Only one bit was taken from it and it went straight in the garbage.
Does not have the $5 lunch special or $3 Tuesday special advertised on the website at this location!Wish it was clearly stated in the websiteJerk chicken wasn't spicy or well seasoned/marinated, just a coating outside.Or maybe they gave me BBQ chicken by mistake? Either way, it didn't taste like jerk chickenHowever, macaroni salad included with the meal tasted great!
I've been to this place many times and offered feedback on certain things in person but they just don't listen. I ordered an oxtail dinner last night which was supposed to come with rice and peas and garden salad but when I got home (30 mins away) there was no rice. I was so disappointed. I had to sit and plseparate all the soggy salad from the oxtail so I could heat it up in the microwave. As for other things wrong with this place, 1) they put extra curry/gravy in clear plastic containers (this is bad because those containers are meant for cold sauces like ketchup and sides like olives...when you put hot liquids in them, it causes the plastic to break down and contaminate the curry/gravy with toxins...I've explained this to them and they haven't changed their containers) so I stopped ordering extra curry/gravy on the side - I'm not paying an $0.50 for contaminated curry, and 2) when I've ordered just a goat curry or oxtail (not a dinner), it's full of bones and not enough meat and definitely lacks the actual curry - the meat is moist but there's no liquid. If I'm paying $20 for 2 servings of curry goat, I expect a better ratio of meat to bones. I won't be making the drive out to Brampton from Toronto for their food anymore, which is unfortunate because the flavors and textures are great.
