It was the worst order of halibut fish and chips that I have put in the garbage. Fish was under cooked and fries were soggy. Certainly not going there again.

I was the last client today and they were so nice and patience to take my order with out problem.. awesome people, excelent food. Thank you guys and thanks to the cook for the recomendation abput the fries !!! I recomend this place !
This place is the best place in bellville for fish and chips price and quality hands down my parents owned a restaurant and a good friend used to own a fish place on the river downtown, George's wins, ( sorry Greg) 5????? all the way we have been dinning here since opening and have only had one time we where not happy the rest have been perfect ?
In from out of town and family decided to go for fish and chips. Had not been here before. Small restaurant in a strip mall. Great variety of fish including cod, haddock and halibut. Also shrimp and clam strips. Fish was EXCELLENT! Battered, but it was a light batter and there wasn't more of it than the fish. Excellent sized portions of fish, although we always order 1.5 to 2 portions of fish for my wife and myself. Huge servings of fries. Excellent fries. I saw a poutine that a person was eating indoors and it was huge. Definitely will be coming back here. This is what a fish and chips SHOULD be like!!
I ordered a double order of very expensive halibut and fries plus sides two weeks ago (August 2021) to share with a friend at work. The fish was wet, under cooked/almost raw, mushy and disgusting. I called the next day and was told it was fresh halibut not frozen so would be a different texture. I said indeed, it was a raw texture tasting like baking soda. I wanted a refund she said probably just more halibut. I was told she'd have to talk to owner and get back to me. Two weeks later I called again and asked why no reply. She said "you told me you were calling next day." um, correction oh no I did not. I then told her my friend told me the next time I saw her she was really ill for two days. She said you didn't tell me that. Lol I didnt know in first call. Omg. Long story long. I still need to talk to owner. Girl said all he can do is more of the same fish. IMO horrid food, service and response. Meanwhile, $27 for two pieces of deep fried sushi mush can be yours!

Really one of the best fast food fish and chip shops around. Very reasonably priced. Always tasty and served hot. Great service as well. Phone ahead for takeout . Order early to get the Fish Fingers - made with halibut and really great always enough for two people. Thanks so much to Dale and family.
We had the halibut fish and chip. Very good, no complaints. First time I ate at that location.
We have enjoyed dining in at Captain George's, but the experience of having to order food and pick up during the pandemic has been a very unpleasant experience. The barking of "Can't come in -wait outside!" "Stand here!", "Over there!" "No, behind the red line here!" by the senior waitress has been very upsetting and uncalled-for. We understand the Covid situation, but her approach was very unwelcoming and unnecessary. We are considering not returning.
