This is a combination of Mexican store and restaurant. There is limited seating and it is not a fancy place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The portions are a good size and everything we was fresh and tasty. I only gave it four because of ambiance. We will goback for the food again.
Friendly staff but expect long wait for your food. Kids meal is a little ripped off. $9for hot dog weinners and fries. Beware they over charge you for the fried fish (Pesco Frito), which is $14 on the menu but showed up $19 on the bill.
Came here after a long day at a Jobsite in Barrie. The wait was about 15min for 3 tacos. The tacos were authentic however seemed store bought. I say this because I got the food to go and ate it in the car however the taco ripped apart as I was eating it and this was with two tortillas on each taco. I thought there were a little too many onions. Also, the steak was a little dry, the pork with pineapple was very flavourful and the most memorable, and the carnitas was average. I got a combo and ordered with a churro. The churro seemed like it was made that day but wasn’t hot or very fresh so I’m glad I didn’t get a churro combo. Overall this place was good but not great however I would come back to try something else.
I’m seriously addicted to The Mexican House!! The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the staff are super friendly. I recommend this place to anyone looking for flavourful and authentic Mexican food.Thank you for always serving up amazing food in such a welcoming environment!!
Food is excellent quality, Portions are large and satisfying, staff is friendly and accommodating, washrooms are clean, place is wonderful. What more could you ask for ? They really do put effort into making your dining experience a pleasant experience. Well worth the money.

Hands down amazing service and food!!! Highly recommend coming. Iv been coming here for years when they were just a little shop int he strip mall for their pupusas. And recently went for the first time since they opened at their new location. Fa nominal!! Everything from the appetizers (we had the tamales and civeche to share), to the mains (we had the burito, tacos and empanadas) to desert! Love this family run restaurant so much ♥️
The best mexican food I've had in Ontario. Food is authentic and better than all downtown toronto tacos. The place also sells authentic mexican goods. Highly highly recommend.
The Mexican House opened at the Barrie bus station, they did a great job at making the place their own! The staff is super nice and inviting which made the experience enjoyable! The food was fresh and delicious. A must try!!
