This was my first time at Farmhouse in Barrie and I fell in love! Great service and the food was amazing. We are definitely going back. We got oysters.. didn't get a picture they didn't last long. We ended up getting muscles as well because someone next to us got them and they smelled so good so we got them too they were also delicious. Got the tenderloin for dinner with the seasonal veggies and smashed potatoes. Portions were perfect and we all had clean plates. Also had dessert which was very yummy! Thank you Farmhouse for a great experience!
Great customer service! Amazing food! Our Waitress, Sylvie, was awesome! My wife didn't like her drink, so she offered to replaced it with no questions asked..amazing!!
I went to the farmhouse for the first time today. The view was nice, my food was ok. As you can see in the picture, the presentation was poor. My sausage was so dry , the toast was served on the same plate making it hard to eat. Let's talk about the service. On the other hand, the server was nice and friendly. And the coffee was amazing. This place is great! My mom and I went for the first time last month, and were not expecting it to be so great! We were blown away by the quality of food. The atmosphere is great and we will definitely be going back! The price is great for how much food you get, and the great service. Make sure you book your reservation ahead of time because it gets very booked up quick - makes sense because it's a great place in Barrie!
The ambiance, the food, the service. We chose The Farmhouse to celebrate our 18 year anniversary and we were not disappointed. Our amazing server Cassandra went above and beyond to make sure our night was as special as could be. We can’t wait to come back and we will recommend your establishment to all!
Had dinner at the Farmhouse recently. Some thoughts:Pros:- Parking is available- The fries were pretty good- Service was good-ishCons:- We were initially given a table with a space heater near the front door. Half the restaurant was empty at this point. It's a pretty bad way to get dinner started. To the credit of the staff, they were able to fit us at another table.- The food was bad. The burger just missed the mark. It lacked sauce. And the bun was oversized compared to what was inside. The Beef Dip came conspiciously on a brioche hamburger bun, and it didn't taste great. Even the fries that tasted decent, about a quarter of the basket came undercooked. But the worst offender of all was the mac and cheese. It was bad. It was just macoroni with cheese melted on top after the noodles were cooked. Yeah it wasn't great.Look, if I'm being honest, this is more of a 1 star experience than anything. I know this place is kind of an insitution in Barrie. It's one of these places that's done well because the prices weren't too high, and the menu is full of comfort food that everyone in the family can appreciate. And the space heaters are all apart of the charm that comes with the name of the restaurant. But the problem is that the food just doesn't hold up compared to what others are doing in town. And neither do the prices. Compared to some of the newer restaurants in town, this place feels less like an institution, and more like a relic of small town dining. If you want a more satisfactory meal with a better menu, check out North Country instead.
We used to love The Farmhouse. Tonight was the first time back in a few years but when we like to go out just my husband and I for a nice dinner just the 2 of us, we would always chose The Farmhouse as our special place. We loved the atmosphere and usually the food is mouth watering. Tonight was not so great. We were disappointed. The food was bland. My steak was over cooked. Asked for med rare, came almost well done. They did fix it but the sauce tasted like red wine vinegar not red wine reduction. You could see the sauce separate. Not strained. The bruschetta was bland. Not what we were used to or expected. Service was good and they did help us. Drinks were yummy. We do not normally complain or send food back but it was not edible. Not sure what was going on. We were disappointed. We went to The Farmhouse for those specific items as we always love and praise and tell everyone how good it is. I hope this was a one off. Hopefully we will be back again, but I hope they put more love in the food like they used too. I do not like to give bad reviews, but I wanted to put it out there that they can do a lot better.Unhappy.
Located right next the harbourfront. Designated parking. Bright and welcoming decor as soon as you walk in.Amazing brunch menu. Unique Egg Bennie selections. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Small mistake on our orders but it was fixed with no issues.Strongly recommend.
I went to the Farmhouse a month ago and Breakfast for 2 cost $65. 2 Eggs Benedict, 1 Caesar and a Tea. Eggs were poached hard, the bacon was cold and there was almost no Hollandaise. (..what Hollandaise they placed was cold) Caesar was great, home fries were great. Went back tonight for dinner to give a fair shot. For $80 we got a Burger and a "Beef Dip" Sandwich, each entree had 2 sides each. Both of us went for the mac and cheese (lukewarm at best) it was dry, not cheesy and totally forgettable. I got the smashed rosemary potatoes which are just boiled (not smashed) red potatoes with some butter, absolutely flavorless. I left 2 out of the 3 on my plate. Why have smashed potatoes on a menu if that's not what they are? Just call them boiled potatoes. Buns were cold, not even toasted on either sandwich? A Beef Dip normally comes on a baguette or a French roll but it was a cold hamburger bun. The Au Jus was gravy? I expected a warm Beef Dip Sandwich but it was cold. The restaurant was maybe 30% full? I will give them a 10 for fries, the fries were outstanding. I really wanted to love this place but whoever is doing the cooking is putting 0 love into what they put out. I am truly sorry to the owners for writing this review but COVID or not you guys seriously need to up your game and nail more menu items beyond fried potatoes in order to justify these prices. I won't be going back unfortunately.
One of my favourite restaurants in Barrie. The patio view is beautiful. It’s a very clean place, perfect for date nights. I went when it was busy, and the service was amazing! It’s a little pricey, but the food is very delicious, cooked perfectly and plated nicely. I have recommended Farmhouse many times and will continue to do so. Can’t wait to visit again!
