Very pleasing staff, and authentic taste in their food. The spice flavour is very rare to find. Best cultural restaurant found so far in Barrie. Recommend for those who are looking for vegetarian Indian food. They don't have sitting available at this time (online does mention about sitting and patio). So it's only take out. Portions are nice sized. Their smallest curry container is good enough for 2 persons. Many options for flat breads. Masala naan would be my favourite among all. Definitely a place to be recommended for someone new in this area or looking to try again some nice filling food which tastes good as well.
First,The 1 star is only for their bad customer service, First of all the food is average or good so I would give the 3-4 star for the food taste and quality.Second, Quantity is okay but if anyone wants to order food from them and ordering Naan, please make sure you order at least 3 Naan per person, even for your toddler order 2 naan, because their Naan is like a size of a cookie, and god forbid if you are out of Naan in between they will make you wait for at least 45 mins even if its 1 naan, they won’t squeeze in anything to make your experience better. They don’t care of you have wasted 100s of dollars on food and it will be wasted because of naan.Third Covid is long gone now but their Dine In is still closed so you won’t have that dine in facility either so don’t stop to eat there on your way out or way in because you would be eating out which is unhygienic and unhealthy. They are order takers only and they cannot be considered in hospitality industry with this attitude.Over all avoid going to Taj, I am a long time patron for them at both Barrie and Sudbury locations since 2014 but they aren’t the same Taj now. Visit some other place or change your menu option from Indian to something else if in Barrie
Taste is good, but quantity is very less and not consistent. We order large paneer tikka masala twice and first time we had full container and second time we got half container. So I would suggest just check before pick up.
We have been there numerous times but at the end I always have the same complaint...you should never leave a restaurant hungry! The purpose of having gone there is defeated if you leave looking for something else to eat as you are not satisfied. The food at the Taj is excellent, however the portions are ridiculously small and leave you wanting more. I understand the delicate presentation of the dishes etc but we go to a restaurant to enjoy the food and leave satisfied but this is not the case at the Taj. Fabulous flavours, amazing tastes but not satisfying on the portions....
Ordered through Uber eats. Flavour is amazing, however quantity for what you pay is terrible. Ordered a large butter chicken and it had less than 10 small chunks of chicken in it. It was 80% sauce and they charge $16.99 plus tax for it. Excellent food, but unless they make it worth what you are paying we will not be going back.
2022 May: 5/5 - AMAZING INDIAN FOOD!Had just the lamb kebabs as was the first time trying the place. First reaction was, WOW, absolutely amazing with a TON of flavour. The onions that came with it were delicious and did not taste like North American onions (which I loath). The sauce was nice as it helped most of those in our party who could not take the heat of the kebabs. One thing that should be noted is that the kebabs are SPICY! I love spice so for me they were so flavourful but one person in our party who is not the biggest fan of spice found her mouth on fire and could not finish her kebabs (which was great for me as I got more lamb kebabs). :)Last point, they really should put their delivery in aluminum foil as it was not hot when it arrived...was between warm and hot but still would have been nicer if it was pipping hot...the food overall though was so delicious so just a minor concern!
The food from Taj Bistro is so delicious and fresh. The Tikka Masala sauce is out of this world and you have to try it. Their food tastes home made and never disappoints. We cant get enough and order regularly.
Ordered delivery with Uber eats, no complaints about delivery. First I paid an extra $2.50 for a “medium butter chicken” and it was tiny, with 4 pieces of chicken in it. Only four pieces of chicken in the biryani too, so at least they’re consistent. I ordered butter chicken because it’s mild for my girlfriend who doesn’t like spice, but it was spicy even for me. There is better Indian food elsewhere that is more worth the money.
They have degraded the quality.Last two orders were very bad. This time the rice were uncooked.Last time, the taste was bad and it was too bland even though i specifically told them to make it spicy. The chicken biryani has just 3 pieces and just rice and the lamb biryani has uncooked rice.Have been eating from this place but after this wont ever order from this place.
They are best in town. Food quality is great and also their customer service is beyond 5 star.I would definitely recommend this place, If you're looking for best indian food.
