Pathetic fish roe sushi! They charge you a premium $3 dollars per piece haha and it is all rice with a light dust of fish roe ! This is a disgrace to sushi! Literally it is about an inch thick of rice.. Spicy tuna roll is all cucumber and tempura! Quality went down big time! This is the south Barrie location. I'm not going here anymore after being ripped off $23 dollars for next to nothing in sushi. I assume the location in the north end is being run under the same management style , so If you want proper sushi in barrie make the trip to Aji Sai! I do not do all you can eat, but instead a la carte so I can really see how these restaurants perform on quality pieces. Today was a big fail. You can clearly see they are trying to cut back on tuna and the fish roe. I should've taken more pictures as the miso soup was flavourless and had no tofu or seaweed.
We visited Sakana House on Big Bay Point today. Three adults, two babies and a toddler had a great time. Thank you for serving us so well! All waiters and waitresses were very friendly and provided us whatever we needed, especially for our toddler. The place was clean. Food was tasty and fresh. The babies had fun. We were sorry for making a mess with food on the floor, but everyone was so polite and helpful! We will visit you guys again for sure!
Not quite "ALL YOU CAN EAT!" I went because of word of mouth about the great fresh sushi. They were right it was great, but I left hungry!!! The first order was good, second a little slower, and so on... I decided I wanted one more thing before we left, I ordered 6 calamari rings... SIX! and waited 45 minutes (no exaggeration) to get this last item!! They were absolutely just waiting for us to just give up and leave, we did eventually, after 1.5 hours since it took soooo long to get the food after the first order. I was literally still hungry when we finally left. The food is excellent, but I can only give it one star due to the fact it really isn't an all you can eat, but rather a "we'll tell you when it is enough and just won't bring you anymore food!"

food is good. service is good. place is clean. not the best sushi I have had but better than average
We went here for lunch and were absolutely thrilled! We had never been before, so we didn't know what to expect. We were greeted promptly at the door, our vaccine status and ID were checked, and we were quickly shown to a table. The restaurant was very attractive and quite busy, with more than adequate spacing between tables. All of the servers were very attentive and brought our drinks right away. We chose the AYCE option and our food came quickly. Everything was absolutely delicious! We ate a lot and there wasn't a single dish that wasn't absolutely wonderful. The price was very reasonable and we didn't feel rushed in any way. I would definitely return. Highly recommended! :D
If you’re from Toronto and have had AYCE before, this is considered a 1 star. Very low amount of option, poor service, food is not very tasty. Some staff were rushing us the entire time, while others were flat out rude (ignoring our requests for water, napkins, straws, etc.) The man (manager perhaps?) was very kind and accommodating. He gained an extra star. Other than his service, this place is not somewhere I’d return to.
Friday night, 5pm. The food was ok but my guest and I were treated badly, not served the same as other diners and were pressured to rush our departure, apparently because a line had started to form (8 people). It was not necessary for them to be so rude or crass and entirely inappropriate. On leaving we noticed a number of other vacant tables which offered more than enough space to seat waiting diners. Meanwhile, other diners in our area were given better treatment, such as offers of water and tea, with refills, etc. We had none. We were treated so poorly and differently. We observed that we were the only women-only table and the only seniors. We wondered whether we were being discriminated against for these reasons, in contrast to other diners . This was my friend's birthday and meant to be a treat and a celebration. Instead of leaving after enjoying a nice meal, we left feeling mildly abused and ill served. I wouldn't go back and would never recommend this to any friends or seniors, nor as a gift to any friend or family.
I admit we were quite hesitant to go out for lunch during COVID, but we decided to pull the trigger and go for sushi. Sakana did not let us down!! They not only had amazing, delicious food, but they were extremely safe with their precautions. I felt perfectly safe in their restaurant and had an amazing lunch date.
