I scream, you scream! We all scream for ice cream!On such a hot day, there are few things better than an ice cold treat. In Barrie, Kawartha Dairy is a classic parlour just a short drive from the beachfront. The shop has over 40 ice cream flavours to suit your heart’s desire. Initially we had trouble picking & eventually staff forgot about us.Salty Caramel Truffle and Moose Tracks are popular flavours. We stacked both fresh scoops in a small size cup that’s still huge! Each spoonful is fairly rich & creamy. The salt in the caramel balanced one another well (highly recommend), while Moose Tracks was a chocolate delight to satisfy the sweet tooth.Milkshakes can also be made from any scoop. We tried the new Pistachio Almond in this form. The almond slices added a crunch to the green pistachio shake although flavours were a bit artificial. All-in-all, this visit put us in a good summer vibe!
We went to this location after the blueberries picking.There is a short wait in line.The ice cream are tasty, and we can sit on the bench outside to enjoy ?
Such a great place...order the small waffle cone ..two different flavours ..it's amazing and huge...Brought home some White Chocolate and Raspberry ice cream cause it's probably not available in local stores and its one of the best I've had...
Amazing ice cream, super generous portions (!) and lovely service (although twice now we received the wrong order).The only one thing I’d recommend- even beg - please consider changing those awful flimsy plastic spoons!! Impossible to eat anything (let alone frozen) with those.Also - maybe consider placing the flavours menu BEFORE reaching the drive through speaker so people can be more ready to order when they arrive. Thank you! ??
Excellent friendly and helpful staff even when they're slammed & super busy. Which appears to be always... lol. They're awesome! Plus, the ice-cream is really tasty, the quality & price for what you get makes it a good choice for a treat after a long hot day ??
Ice cream was good. Service was not so good. The lady collecting drive thru orders did not seemed pleased that we took an extra minute to figure out our order. When giving us the ice cream, they hand it out in this little holder (to not have direct contact) and went to go grab it with two fingers since that was the only way to grab the cone, and it fell apart in my hand and ended up with ice cream all over my hand and broken cone crumbs in the car. The workers did not apologize, and stood for a good moment before offering a cup. Was not offered a napkin and they did not seem like they even cared. I love the ice cream, but service was so bad I don’t even want to go back.
They have incredible flavors. I’m still exploring their unique blends. Every flavor is so different from others and has a great taste of its own. Absolutely in love with Kawartha dairy ice-creams. I don’t think I can ever try any other store for ice cream.
Soo much ice cream! The portions for price are WORTH it. The staff is friendly and in store there is a huge variety of treats and other things to purchase! The drive through is easy to navigate though I have seen it super full before, those are the times I don't stop by. Other than that, the ice cream makes me smile!
I love this place. It's the only place that I can get banana ice cream, my favorite, lots of selection. Nice to see families coming out and sitting around and having a nice treat. Would highly recommend for anybody!
Great selection and delicious ice cream! It was mostly younger folks working when we were there (I think it was around 5pm ish) and they were very patient while we ordered and the portion sizing is very generous. Love that there's take home containers in the freezer too! Many more flavours than what we see at the grocery store! Can't wait to go back! This will definitely be our summer ice cream spot with the kids!
