My friend and I stopped by here to eat on our way home to Bradford. Highly disappointed.I understand they close at 8, we showed up at 7:20 p.m. the server was sweeping the floor as we stood inside at the door. She was stretching here and there. No acknowledgment to us what so ever so we waited thinking she just wanted to finish that area. Then she places the broom across her back and stretches again. My friend and I just looked at one another as she moved to another section and continued what she was doing. Finally after 8 minutes ,I said to her, thank you and have a great night. It was like she just wanted us to go away and by ignoring us, that is what we did!We left and went next door to Harvey'sNot a hello or im sorry we are about to close, NOTHING definitely not the way to treat your customers. Next time a patron is there, instead of ignoring them say hello at the very least. Next time we will stick to the Bradford location. Never ignored and always great and friendly staff with great food.I work at a restaurant also. If u can't get to the customer right away, I at least say hi and ill be right there. It's better than pretending they are not there
We come here quite Often with ZERO complaints. This time we wasted $75 on family dinner to not eat ANYTHING. The fish tasted like mush (no flake to it whatsoever) and the batter was not crispy at all. It’s like it was sitting in room temperature oil after being cooked just soaking it all up. I will be calling the restaurant today to get some type of resolution. Coming from angus it’s a 20 min drive so 40 mins of driving to not eat dinner and waste $75 and gas.
I was extremely pleased with my food order. It tasted great, generous portions, friendly staff and a spotless facility. Highly recommended!!
We ordered from skip the dishes last night, first time ever. We got a call from the restaurant when the driver was almost in the driveway telling us that they only packed the salad and garlic bread and the rest of our fish and chips was at the restaurant. They wanted the driver to go back to the restaurant and pick up the rest of the order. The driver said nope, I did my part and delivered everything they gave me. I don't know much about this delivery system and whose responsibility it is, but we did not get our dinner and had Wendy's instead. I will never order take out again.
Thought I would try this for the first time. No , I never had stale halibut before. It wasn't good at all. Batter was falling off and had a very strong fishy taste. Like it was bad. Wont be back.

Sister Googled The Halibut House and view their menu. Chose 3 orders of the Halibut with chips and coleslaw for $15.95 each. Also 3 orders of gravy at $3 each ( 15.95 + 9.00 × 13% = $64.25) . I get there to pick up order and thought $77.80 was a little high but I pay and away I go. I tell my sister how much and she said we will look at receipt later. Well, no receipt. I call and was told Halibut is $17.95 + $2 for fries. This certainly does NOT reflect their prices. So for 1pc of fish, fries (did not get cloeslaw) and a side of gravy.$22.95×3=68.85×13%= $77.80. NEVER AGAIN!
Came here with my family after going to a ski resort it was fabulous! The waiter was so friendly and very considerate of dietary restrictions! Definitely will be coming here again!?
My wife and I went here quite often. At least once per month. Was always good.We went Friday, Dec 24th, and what a nightmare.We ordered the fish chowder, as an app, and halibut and chips. The chowder arrived 15 mins later, and was not fresh or good at all.2 mins later, the fish and chips arrived. Fries were burnt, and you couldnt get a fork in them. Fish was way over cooked and also tasted somewhat burnt.We sent the chowder back, because we couldnt eat it at the same tome as our meal.The waitress, then asked how the meal was, and we told her it was terrible. She went to the kitchen and started telling the other stsff in a very sarcastic voice, our comments, and almost shaming us. It was a terrible experience. I then asked for the bill, after leaving most of the fries on our plates, and she said she would credit the chowder, which we didnt have a chance to eat anyway. The owner wss right there, and could not of cared less that we were so upset with our meal. NEVER SAID A WORD TO US!! I guess return customers dont matter. Business must be very good to treat his regulars in such a manner. We have told at least 9 people so far, who will not go there again. Very very poor response, to a problem that could have been rectified do easily.Would not recommend at all
We have been here several times and every time the food is fresh and excellent. The portions and quality is great! Yeah it may be more expensive than some other places but you get what you pay for.Our server (always the same one) is friendly and does a great job every time we come in.Keep it up guys!
