We ordered the mango dragon roll and the mango was clearly not ripe… like there was slices of carrots In there… scallops were very small and everything was cold. For the cost I could have gotten double from sakana house and way better quality. This is the first time I didn’t want to finish all of my sushi
We ordered online and everything was ready on time. The sushi was fresh and delicious. Tempura was tasty too. The beef noodles and ramen noodles were not so good. Both lacked flavour and were below average. The side of salad was lame. Only Iceberg lettuce that was limp. Dressing was ok. We strongly feel now is the time to support local businesses. Definitely recommend the sushi and will order again!
If you want to order sushi for take out DO NOT GO TO DIAMOND SUSHI ON BRYNE DRIVE IN BARRIE! It took 10 minutes and being put on hold 3 times before they took my order. I was told it would be 30 minutes. I check at 30 minutes and they sat 15 min more. After 45 minutes I call to check (my husband is waiting in the car cause we want to be responsible) on hold 5 minutes and they never picked up the phone. My husband goes in. The place is chaos. Six staff but one person trying to figure out which order is which. They cant find our order. Husband left NEVER AGAIN. If I could give them a negative rating I would. No sushi is worth that much hassle. We will be looking for a new place.

Bryce location is our favourite place to eat. Service if always excellent and food is always tasty, quality, and reliable. We visit once a week now for a weekly date night or lunch that we started doing specifics because its SO good here!!
We were told by friends that this was one of the best sushi restaurants in Barrie. I’m not sure if we got them on a bad day, but I’ll never go back. Reviews online said the lunch AYCE was cheap (couldn’t find the price anywhere online). $20 per person ($10 for my 5 yo son) is not cheap. At that price, I’ll go to Noble sushi, as it’s 1000 times better. The service was terrible, and for the first 20 mins or so, we were the only customers in the restaurant, so really no excuse. I can get past the terrible service if the food is good, but it was horrible. The sushi rolls tasted old like what you find at a grocery store. None of the food was fresh tasting at all. Honestly, I will never go back, there are so many other sushi AYCE restaurants that are way better (Noble, Sakana house, Fork and spoon; to name a few).
Diamond Sushi provides a reasonable variety of sushi fish as well as hot dishes to suit your level of hunger and palate. Ordering is done on an iPad which I found confusing (note: I'm not technically illiterate and I own an iPad) - apparently you have to close out your order and 'submit' it, otherwise you will wait forever until the waiter wanders by and asks if you are going to order or not! The sushi is average, nothing special but was delivered quickly and looked appetizing. The price is reasonable and the wait staff are busy but helpful. Friends tell me they eat here often and it's always a good experience. Lots of seats and lots of parking in the plaza where Diamond is located. Enjoy!
Still my favourite sushi restaurant in Barrie!! I just cant get enough of the Special Diamond Crab Roll & Salmon Flowers!! They also have a lot of great cooked options!!! The service is easy, quick and friendly!! They will also, give you a 10% discount if you pay cash, making them the most affordable sushi restaurant in the area!
I would not recommend this place if you’re a fan of sushi. I had the spicy salmon and spicy tuna. Although they were very well prepared and the presentation was excellent, the taste was less than favourable. It definitely had the grocery store sushi taste (yes I bought it at a grocery store but Bento Sushi is usually, from previous experiences, a decent place to get sushi).
My husband and I have been going to Diamond Sushi for 2 years. Never a bad meal, never a bad experience. The food is freshly cooked with each request. It takes a while to get it to table because it is FRESH, not warmed up. The staff are all Japanese or Asian and they act very professional as is their custom. We will keep doing our monthly date there as we love it!
