Good food, but a little eerie when youre the only one inside. Staff behind a wall, not speaking, food appearing silently. Good for lunch if you dont want to be bothered while eating.Takeout travels well on a 10+ minute drive.
I used to enjoy coming here, pre-pandemic.Since reopening their storefront, the inside is more reminiscent of something out of a movie. The employees are hidden behind bars, you can no longer see any of the ingredients/or see your salad being made, and you must place your order via a McDonalds style touchscreen. It felt more like ordering from a hospital cafeteria than what used to be a legit salad bar.Whoever did the remodel, fire them at once and return avocobar to its former glory!Based on this most recent experience, it’s unlikely that I would return to avocobar.
I used to really love it here but have found the quality for what it costs to be disappointing. Portioning on toppings seems skim especially when paying extra for more. Seems they were hit hard by the pandemic. Orders often missed toppings. Hope quality returns.
I really enjoyed my meal. My wrap was stuffed full and very filling. Great flavour too.Banana blue smoothie was very good. I’ll definitely continue coming back.
Good salad , but if you pay for something extra make sure it's in there. Asked for avocado I found one piece. Ask for extra feta cheese! please unbelievable. I love paying for something you don't get or get one tiny piece of it.
EDIT: *The owner responded same day this review was posted and remedied my issue. I appreciate their quick reply, and will definitely be returning.* I have been ordering at least twice a month throughout the pandemic as it is my favourite healthy “fast food” option, but the last time I ordered I was pretty disappointed. First of all there was no indication that the ordering process has changed and we are now supposed to go inside to pick up, I think a sign posted outside or something would be a good idea. I sat in my car for a while not wanting to go in and have the workers feel rushed, only to see my order sitting waiting for me (for who knows how long) on the counter. I was right outside the store with my car running, it seemed to be pretty obvious I was waiting for an order, so it would have been a nice courtesy if staff could have checked with me to let me know the policy had changed.As for the food itself it was uncharacteristically disappointing as well. Usually wraps are stuffed full, but this one seemed to only be half filled (and I paid for “extra” protein). Also there was no full pickle, just slices.The ordering process will be a one off as now that I know it should be smooth for next time, but I’m really hoping the amount of food given was a one off and not a change to their policy. If this is how it is moving forward I will probably stop coming back.
I order from Avocobar quite a bit and do enjoy the salads I get here. I do find they forget something fairly often when ordering online, whether it's a dressing (I often order 2 per salad, that i pay extra for up front) or something else. At times they have missed a protein or other topping. I have called before and they offer a free protein or dressing for next time, but it happens too often for the price I pay for the salads and I've become discouraged from ordering again. I'm sure it's easy to overlook the online order forms but I think a bit more attention to detail would be beneficial.
I was really excited to try AvocoBar because I had heard lovely things! However I was a tad disappointed. I paid extra for pickled jalapeños & I only found a small few in the salad, as well as the chipotle chicken. I had the cilantro lime salad & all of the ingredients were fresh! But I found the dressing had little to no flavour & they were light on the added extras. I ordered online which was prompt & wash to use, however, I don’t think I would return based on this experience.
This is normally my go to place, however my last 2 orders were delivered wrong. Both times I ordered extra Avocado on my beet and goat cheese salad, but received no Avocado at all. Asked for dressing on the side, but it came with the dressing mixed in. Way too much dressing and the salad was soggy. Also no blueberries or beets were on the salad. Two times in a row now. Also was missing the pumpkin seeds that its supposed to come with. Not sure if ill order again after 2 back to back wrong orders.****** EDIT ***** manager contacted me and fixed the issue. Please order from their website and not Uber Eats. Google will not allow me to delete my original post. Changing my review back to a 5 star rating. Definitely will be ordering again through their website.
Fresh and tasty, friendly staff, fair prices. I especially love all the plant based options - so healthy! Almost all the dressings are vegan, so it's easy to take any salad and with a few changes makes it super healthy and nutritious. If I could make one change, it would be to add more plant based proteins, like tofu and Tempeh. In the meantime though, there's literally hundreds of possible combinations to try!
