Food was very very tasty. Had the Sailors option which included headless shrimp (medium heat with captain boil sauce), cajun fries and fried rice for $35.99. Very good deal and portion size was beyond what I expected. Omg everything was super tasty, can't stress that enough. My waitress, Katie was also very friendly and welcoming. I will be coming back!!
What a terrible experience! We've brought great family friends that are visiting us from India where we were treated like kings. They were staying in Pickering and we chose the location in Ajax to take them. We usually go to the locations in Toronto, which were always amazing to us!Only three tables in the restaurant and even being almost empty, the service was really slow as the waitresses preferred to chat at the counter while our drinks always ran dry!It's a seafood place an they had no lobster, no clams, no calamari and a good portion of the sides! Why is this place open if you don't have almost half of your seafood menu?We've ordered the Captain's Feast, which is the most expensive combo by the way and we had to choose other items because they didn't have most of it. If we wanted a shrimp basket only, we would've gone to Popeyes!Extremely frustrating but we didn't want to make our guests uncomfortable, so we took what we could get and didn't have time to find another place. The waitress said that they were getting more stuff in about two days, why would you even say something like that? That's really bad management!Service was still slow and the place was empty!The bill comes in and they "stick" a 15% service charge in there even though we were only 6 people, restaurants usually do that when a table has 10 or more, but we didn't notice the 15% service charge and tipped another 10% on top of that (to be honest, they didn't even deserve the 10%). Basically they got over $123.00 tip with the worst service possible and we didn't eat what we wanted. Not fair to the customer!I just want to mention that we only had problems at this location, the ones in Toronto, Etobicoke and area are great and we'll come back for sure!We were frustrated and we felt ripped out as well!Customers beware of this location!
Messy but tasty ?. It would have been a 5 star if it wasn't for a mixed order. We got 2 lbs of shrimp and 1 lb of mussels for 3 people with fried seafood rice & Cajon fries. 2 lbs of seafood would have been plenty. Both fried rice and Cajon fries were excellent. Next time I will stick to just shrimp.
The Captain's Boil was a great experience! Be prepared to pay market price for basically all the seafood options.
Ordered pickup, can't comment on the dine-in experience. However my experience with 3 different wait-staff while waiting for my order, was not acceptable. They were rude, short and snappy despite myself and other patrons being polite and courteous. Definitely will never sit down to eat here and be treated like that.. Food wasn't even good enough for it.
I always hear people raving about this so my expectations were pretty high. I had take out so I can't comment on their dine on experience. I've dined in at other similar restaurants, needless to say it didn't match my high expectations. I'm not a fan of their in house sauce, it was way too salty and I feel like it was not worth the $$$$. Also, I was missing 2 side orders. Maybe it was just my luck and I should try it again, but for now I don't see myself picking this place for my Seafood craves
Loved the food. First time I ate with my fingers with the food in a bag - loved the experience. The Captain's Boil sauce is great, the food was hot and fresh. Will go again.
Not impressed with this location. From overly long wait times which are done though the ordering system, give yourself an additional 10-15 mins. Don’t bring kids in the cold if you’re going here you will need to wait longer. This is the second time this location has managed to take my money and FAILED to give me my correct order. Today was corn, and they mixed up the boil sauces they put extra hot with the shrimp and mild w/ the mussels. I am trying to support local but all you’re doing is turning away people. Not impressed with CB Ajax location… also, why can’t there be someone to speak too rather then waiting 5-7 mins in the cold and looking around in hopes of someone helping… Do better. Definitely another negative experience. I am sure to never return! 0 ⭐️ Rating.
Been here a few times but now have reason to complain. Ordered 2 lbs shrimp, 1 lbs mussels. The potato was still hard in the middle and potato was missing from other two bags as well as corn. Didn't feel like a pound as we have eaten here before and quantity seemed larger. Very skimpy and over priced and on top of that missing and undercooked vegetables. Very disappointed as we have been here several times before. You can't train your staff if you have incompetent management. Never coming here again and will not recommend to anyone. You all won't even pick up the phone for the last two days so I can rectify this issue. Thank God I never tipped because you all don't deserve it.
