We ordered a wide range of dishes, including onion bhaji which had a long, thick black hair baked right into the middle of it. Absolutely disgusting - we threw out all of the food because if there is a hair in there it means the kitchen must be completely unsanitary.Avoid unless you like hair in your food.
Just ordered and the food was horrible. We ordered hours ahead of time and they did not have it ready. Then when we ate it, it was literally the worst. It lacked flavour, the Chana was not cooked, the panner was cold and the vindaloo tasted like tomato sauce. Definitely not going to order from here again.
Ordered a number of dishes for take-out to try with my husband - a little expensive but made for almost 3 days of leftovers! We especially enjoyed the vegetarian dishes; can never go wrong with paneer! I did think the naan could have been even more flavourful. I would definitely order again, and would love to try the dine-in buffet.
Food is not flavourful at all. Most things I ordered were “over spiced” and were missing any authentic flavour. Worst Saag paneer I ever had, I could not taste spinach at all. And way too much chilli!! Paneer gravy was runny & sweet side, Kadi was barely ok but chickpeas was completely tasteless. Buffet is less than ordinary, no flavours. The eggplant item had no taste of eggplant. The chef needs to learn how to add some flavours to the food. Zero flavour!!! Absolutely tasteless food. Always over spiced, no matter how many time I have instructed. Not enjoyable at all!!! Take out containers (for veg items) were very small to share (not enough for 2 people). Overall Very Very disappointing, won’t try again and won’t recommend.
My husband and I recently ordered take-out from Mumbay Grill and we were absolutely amazed at how fresh and delicious the food was! It was our first time ordering from them using Skip-the-Dishes and we had to write this review to recommend them. Everything from their fish pakoras, samosas, Daal Makhani, Tandoori Chicken, Paneer Shaslik, rice and super-fresh naan bread was delightful. Thank you for this wonderful treat. We will ABSOLUTELY will be ordering from you again!
Dinner buffet was not at all worth the price, not only that there are very few options but also the dishes available are quite ordinary in taste, nothing that you would want to remember after you leave from there.Chole was horrible in taste, rest all the dishes were just ordinary.Tried their samosa too, it's far from the taste you would expect from an Indian restaurant.Don't know why the name is Mumbay, the options and taste have no remote connection with Mumbai food whatsoever (i am from Mumbai). It may be only 'good' for those who either aren't from India and don't know what's the real taste like or those who have been living here since long and may have forgotten the taste of Indian food!
Fantastic place for Indian food fix - Recommend buffet or lunch takeout.
We ordered for takeout and tried Chicken Biryani, Mixed Grill, Samosas and Sag Paneer, along with Nan bread. Everyone enjoyed the meal and agreed that the food was good. Improvement suggestion: Whoever answered the phone, asked me to hold and did not come back for about 10 minutes. I hung up, redialed and got served right away. My husband said it was a very busy night so I appreciate that they were busy.
Quite enjoy the lunch buffet, have not yet tried dinner buffet.Reasonably priced, only a minimal increase between lunch and dinner or weekday and weekend pricing.Fresh buttered naan.Highly recommend - support local restaurateur
Ahhh, craving satisfied! It's been a long time since I've dined at a buffet restaurant, maybe even over two years! I was so glad to find out that Mumbay Grill had reopened their buffet. It was time to feast on good Indian food again!Well, that's what I thought anyway. As good as the food was, I was filled up pretty quickly and could barely finish what was on my plate. Did my stomach shrink? Whatever the case, I enjoyed it!I've eaten at Mumbay Grill several times before COVID and have always enjoyed their offerings. This time around, there seemed to be less choices, less dishes, with one steam table not in use. Even though there was more food than I could eat, it would have been nice to have more choices. Maybe they offer more for dinner?
