Was just okay. The customer service is fantastic and food is fresh. We went to visit after seeing all the great reviews. They have loads of variety including torched sushi and poke bowls...both of which we tried. Torched salmon was good, didn't love the poke bowl, was a little heavy with the sauce on top and a bit dry? The rice on some of the rolls didn't seem as fresh as others. We did go on a random Wednesday night and I wonder if that had something to do with the inconsistency with food. Also the interior needs a bit of work. Was not the best sushi we've had but nice location and the service was great!
Amazing quality food! Came here with my sons and ordered a lot of dishes. Everything was very fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed the seared tuna which came with a small arugula salad, so refreshing! I had the fish cake soup and it was very flavourful and savoury. The rolls were wrapped tightly and sashmi very fresh. I am looking forward to coming back again soon.
You can expect a great variety of sushi & other Japanese dishes / appetizers. I will be returning very soon because I’m already craving it again. Highly recommend!!!! ?
Best sushi I've had in the Durham region, you'll never go to another AYCE place again. Great staff and quick service. The Spicy Kani Roll and Black Dragon rolls are a must try.
Amazing food and service! My favourites were the pressed torched sushi and bulgogi poutine. The sashimi sampler was also very fresh.
Bf and I just visited for dinner today! We were in the area and decided to just walk in and check it out and we were pleasantly surprised :)Very easy to get a seat, felt very comfy and homey inside. Staff were pleasant and helpful.We got some beers and the Dragon Den Maki + Unagi pressed sushi. Very large portions definately enough for 2 people!Also soo tasty & flavourful - definately one of the better sushi places in Durham. The rolls weren't too rice heavy it was perfect.I would likely drive back to pickering from Whitby for these again! Thanks for a great dinner!!!
One of our top picks for sushi in the Ajax/Pickering area. Koo Izakaya can always be relied on for the most melt-in-mouth sushi and delicious poke bowls. Two thumbs up!
My new favorite sushi place in Ajax!! And it is also an Izakaya! ?The menu is really good and the staff is super nice! Everything I have ordered is sooo good! You are getting really high quality sushi compared to a lot of places in the East GTA area. I have been here more than 10 times and I have not been disappointed!! I highly recommend!
Service was amazing but the best part of the night was the food.It was our first time visiting but it won't be our last.We ordered the poutine and mentioned that we weren't shy when it comes to spiciness so the chef added extra hot sauce.
This is one of the better Japanese spots in the Ajax area. Good quality sushi and tapas dishes. Fair prices for the rolls but the tapas menu is a bit pricey for the quantity you get. Still really good though. Service for dine in was great.
