Liked the layout was nice and the service was okay. This one is a full service restaurant not just a sandwich shop. Beer, wings, sandwiches and of course my favorite Brio. I ordered a hot veal sandwich not as big as the original shop serves up. But it wasn't bad taste was all there. The shop at Warden & Eglinton makes sandwiches like the original ??. A nice big sandwich ! Like I mean for 15 bucks a sandwich should be like the original . But basta !

Don't take our orders properly as we order several at a time .Ordered ahead of time like 35min prior to pick up and had to wait at pick up another 15mins that cut into our lunch. This isn't the first time this issue has happened but considering different options since our lunch time is valuable .Please take orders properly or whomever is fixing the veals please do then according to order don't rush .I still gave it 5 stars cause the food was good and enough .

Chicken was raw in the middle. Google won’t let me upload the pictures. Barely any chicken on it, we paid the extra for sauce on the side and only got one of the two tubs we ordered. Sauce doesn’t taste like any other California Sandwiches I’ve ever had, it tastes like 20 cent sauce - way too sweet and processed. Bread was stale. And their medium jalapeño sauce was bland and tasteless. Awful! We usually love Cali Sandwiches, however we frequent the York Mills location which is always amazing! Definitely avoid this location - no clue what they’re doing here but it’s nasty!

I eat at California Sandwiches in Etobicoke and Burlington and love it! It is filling, tasty and a great price point. The Ajax’s sandwich however tastes entirely different. The sauce is bland, barely any topping and mushy. Not sure if this is a one off, but if I ate this exact sandwich here for the first time, I would never return.

I'm not sure I would recommend California Sandwiches. I have to say, I'm not at all impressed with California Sandwiches in Ajax. My boyfriend ordered the chicken sandwich with homemade tomatoe sauce last night around 7ish maybe? Drove from Oshawa to pick it up brought it home and bit into it only to find out it was veal and not chicken. He had a couple of bites but couldn't stomach it. He called the store to let them know and see if there was anything they would do to compensate for their mistake. They told him that they would take 10% off his next meal. I rarely complain about my meals or customer service but the distance he drove to and from the restaurant for his meal to be wrong and not edible only to be offered 10% off his next visit doesn't seem proper to me. Customer service is a big factor in where I choose to eat and unfortunately you missed the mark on that one last night.

California Sandwiches was my favourite place to eat when I lived in Toronto. When I moved to durham I missed the veal sandwich so much. I would order Italian sandwiches from another place in Whitby until I discovered the California Sandwiches in Ajax! I never looked back. This is now my go to place. Delicious sandwiches and more (wings, salads, burger etc). I highly recommend it.

Been to this location twice in the last few months. The sauce is not the same as we have enjoyed at other locations for years. Anyone else notice this?

The worst "veal" sandwich ever!! And it wasn't veal, veal is tender. This was some of the toughest beef I ever had, and stringy. Almost ever bite had a stringy piece I had to pull out of my mouth, gross!! I didn't even attempt the second half. I hope the animals on the side of the road enjoyed it because that's where I threw it. I always heard raving reviews about the place and veal sandwiches are my favourite so imagine my disappointment.

I went here a few weeks ago, the food was great as always!! Although, the wait times for a server was very long. I believe we were the only people actually dining in as well. Other than that, the food was great and the prices were also reasonable!

Love this place! My wife and I usually split a fully loaded sandwich, meat & breaded eggplant plus all the topping -- it's huge! Knife & fork a must, add a cold beer... Heaven!
