Steadily going downhill since March, and it is a shame as it indeed was a place I enjoyed. I used to love going to Montanas. I would say I was a loyal customer and continued to go there for the great food, service, and fun atmosphere. I have unfortunately watched the service and atmosphere suffer, food is still good. If you go to a restaurant to enjoy getting out only to see your servers look beyond stressed, taking on too many tables. The tension in the air alone makes you feel guilty asking the servers for more water. I was shocked that the last two times I went for dinner and drinks started to feel more like a factory, fast food joint where you are, and as soon as you take your last mouthful of food, the check is shoved in your face by the nervous waitstaff. Your team is only as good as your leader, and this place desperately needs restructuring from the top down. Maybe they grew too popular too fast, but I will not go there again. I did not appreciate seeing the manager yell at the poor host for sitting a group of 4 at a larger booth. No one should be forced to tears for serving clients in the best way they can just because the supervisor wanted to sit a larger group at the booth. That was the last straw for me, and I will not go back again!

I usually like the food at Montana’s and never really had a bad experience, but I tried the ribs tonight for the first time. They smelled like sweaty armpits and tasted just as bad. They were so dried out. And my fries were soggy and not even cooked. Yuck, never again?
Well I had to update my review, I had stopped going to Montana's because of the treatment one waitress had given my son and I. But with that being said food was always good.Well tonight my family and I had stopped in for my husbands birthday dinner I honestly couldn't praise them enough.First of all our waitress was a doll, she checked frequently on us. I never had to ask for a thing. She was very accommodating with us seeing as we had a six month old with us.She truly made the whole past experience forgivable. She was just a darling.Secondly, the food hit all the right spots. The presentation was beautiful and it looked like they took pride in every dish. The portions were large and absolutely delicious. We all praised our food when leaving.The atmosphere is phenomenal. I'm so glad we went there and gave it another chance. If your looking for comfort, bbq and or just a relaxing fun time this is the place to be!Thank you for a great night montanas
Decent eatery with wide menu selection. Staff are polite and food portions are just right. Try their skewered prawns or pita bread with spinach and cheese as a starter. Steaks and ribs are great as well. Would recommend Montana’s if you’re in Sydney NS.
Its a bit pricey. Food was good. We we're charged for a kids frozen cotton candy cocktail when it was suppose to have come with the kids meal. Service was good. The biggest complaint is the bathroom aren't cleaned as thoroughly as should be. Especially the toilet areas.
We ordered burgers and ribs. The ribs were hard and the burger was rubbery. Waitress confirmed that the burger patties come frozen. There was also a bunch of dust on the wood right above our table. Not a pleasant experience overall.
I ordered the $40 fajita deal, was subpar for the price. I asked the female bartender if she could mix a special drink for me. 1oz of blue curacao, 1oz of creme de banana, half Oz of green melon mix with pop to fill glass. I've had it at other bars for the price of a specialty drink since they are mixing liquors. I bought 2 of them, ridiculous price was not given til later of $18.50 for each. $40 for 2 glasses. I asked bartender to lower it as it's not a premium liquor and she wouldn't. Other bars since then couldn't believe nor would they charge me that price. Bartender needs to be educated!
We ordered a variety of different dishes from chicken wings to steak. Everything was done perfect and the staff were very very professional and helpful. We will be definitely going here soon.
Food was pretty good but waitress (Jill) seemed like she didn't care all that much.Still charged me for gravy when I asked for no gravy, then said it was the side of pickles but I've been going here for years and was always told pickles were free. ?Then I asked for my ice cream on the side with my skillet cookie because I hate ice cream and she gave it to me and said they put ice cream on it before she told them.. but she should have told them when she put the order in first. Never apologized, and never offered to fix it. Definitely not the best experience and definitely lacking good customer service.??♀️
