Service was great - that's where the good news ends. We should have known better for a Friday evening dinner stop when we walked in to see paper placemats, diner-style tables and chairs, etc. This was like an overpriced local version of Swiss chalet. If you like poorly seasoned, poorly presented, poorly constructed meals, that's okay- but I don't agree with gastro pub prices on such awful food. Instant mashed potatoes, gravy from a mix, etc, just led to an overall over priced and discusting meals. We ate only a little bit - just not worth the Friday evening date night. But again, want to stress the service was A1 - which, hilariously, A1 probably would have made the steak edible..

Great food and fabulous staff. Had the pecan crusted salmon... So good. Have been back a second time and. Only gets better. Thank you Jordon for the extra touches for a wonderful evening

Delicious food and great atmosphere! Get the wonton nachos - they were insanely good. I would go just for those.

First time there, definitely not the last. Celebrated my son's birthday with a family supper. Excellent service, food was great too from steaks,to fish tacos and sandwiches. Prices were average and comparable.

The food were delicious, portions were big & service was beyond our expectations. Brandon is very friendly & helpful with food suggestions! We had seafood linguine, shrimp tacos, 10 oz steak, Caesar salad & for dessert new york style cheesecake!

Visited with a large group. Service was quick and friendly. Server gave excellent suggestions on type and size of meals. Food was delivered quickly and enjoyed by all.

Great food great service and all Nova Scotia safety measures in place.

Seven of us went to the Boardwalk Taproom and Eatery for dinner. We had the seafood pasta, homemade fishcakes, Philly steak sandwich, pan fried haddock, Fettuccine Alfredo, and the stuffed chicken supreme. Both the food and the service were good.

Having only been here once, this review is strictly brought down by the food that was ordered during my visit. Service however, was fantastic. Very polite, efficient, and we never had an empty glass of water. The location itself is beautiful, well lit with great views of the boardwalk and harbour. It must be said the interior decor does let it down slightly by not providing an environment that befits the prime real estate. There is a decent wine & beer selection (the Merlot on offer is quite nice) and the food menu seems to have many (albeit very "standard") choices for everyone. If you know what a good steak tastes like however, I do recommend staying clear of the "House Special" 10oz AAA Strip. The steak itself, while cooked as ordered (med-rare), was incredibly bland and lacked any real flavour. The vegetables were a depressing duo of overcooked and wilted broccoli & haphazard chunks of carrot. The supposedly "garlic" mashed potatoes were also bland and underwhelming, both in taste and presentation, although the portion size was HUGE (almost half the plate). I had expected much more, given the other reviews and the prime location. I will go back again to try other menu items, and this could certainly influence a change (hopefully for the better) in the rating. The main reason I am going back however is due to the great service.Summary: Add flavour to the menu and hire a designer. Keep the great front-of-house staff.

Great food, amazing staff and incredible service. Will definitely be going back!
