Sadly no customers in restaurant. Ordered take out. Food was really good.
Ginger beef was horrible. No ginger flavour and no spice heat. Wife had chicken sui guy and it was tasteless.When we tried to pay using debit the machine was not working. Today I had cash on me.Definitely under new management. Place has definitely gone downhill and we will not be back.
Terrible experience ! The Chicken Fried Rice was taken straight out of the fridge...there was no chicken in it. When i mentioned it to the server (also doubling up as the cook and cashier) he said that it's because other customers have told him that they don't want chicken in their Chicken Fried Rice...(Hahhaha!) he also charged us a dollar extra for each meal, and "accidentally" miscalculated while adding up our bill for the total, thereby overcharging by $ 4. The place lacked hygiene, and another customer came out of the washroom and told us to avoid it at all costs...Lol. overall, the quality has gone way downhill over the years, the place is disgustingly dirty (socks and shoes kept below nearby tables) and dark and dingy looking. But the kicker was the level of dishonesty. I've been coming here since 6 years, but this time will be the last as it's been a downward slope for this restaurant :-(
Hands down the worst Chinese food i've ever had. I ordered a wonton soup and the wontons were hard, the egg roll was mostly batter and the chicken fried rice had no chicken in it and was so dry. I placed the order for pick up when I got there the owner told me that the debit machine wasn't working and asked if I had cash, when I told him no he went to the back and got a debit machine. Awful experience.
the food was disgusting, the food was dry and overcooked, could not eat it, one star is still too high of a rating for the food
maybe get a new cook, they obviously don't care about food quality.
This used to be my favorite restaurant in Halifax, the guy running it in there now shouldn't be running a restaurant, If your almond ding fell on the ground and nobody seen it, you can be certain its going back on the plate and served fresh the guy only sends food on delivery if you pay cash, I really don't want this place to go down, the people who ran it before covid were awesome.
Zen used to be a great restaurant. Now the food is not as good they mess up your order and give you expired plum sauce. Egg rolls were mostly batter.No stars do not go to this restaurant . Had to give one star to post.
This place has gone way down hill. I ordered food, the guy before me warned me that he had to have them remake his cause his chicken tasty moldy. I get home and despite smelling fine my chicken balls tasted like mold. This place needs a health department visit.
Some of the worst food I’ve had. I took a few bites and couldn’t come close to finishing it. A huge disappointment and and bigger waste of money.
