We thought we would give Turkuaz Turkish Restaurant a try as it was recommended by one of my work colleagues and saw they have good reviews. We were in the area thought we would drop in. I do prefer to make reservations but we were out and about and wanted to try something new. They were quite accommodating even though we didn't previously make reservations.It was a very modern style restaurant with a nice decor that has a view of the Bedford basin.I had the lamb shank on rice with salad and my wife shared a lamb Donaire plate with my daughter as she had eaten earlier and was not that hungry. The Lamb shank was delicious and the meat was falling off the bone. I tasted the lamb donair as well which was also very good.Our waitress was nice and very helpful. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant and will be back to try some different menu items.My honest rating would be 4.7/5 but I will go with 5 stars because it was definitely not a 4 star. The reason for the 4.7 rating is because compared to other Turkish Restaurants I have been to, the variety of grilled vegetables was less. This being the first time I was there I found the parking lot to be a little confusing as the spots are labeled Reserved so I was looking for a parking spot not knowing that the signs for reserved for customers of the restaurant and patrons of the plaza (usually reserved spots are for staff). I would just recommend having better signage so new people coming in know they have a place to park. Price wise it was a little more than other Turkish Restaurants that we frequent but still worth while checking out as their food is very good. I will be back and continue to support this business and would recommend that you try it.??
The best must try restaurant in Halifax. Their food is so fresh and tastes authentic. They start with few pieces of bread, pickled jalapeños and some olives (complimentary). The bread was so fresh and felt like it was straight from oven. You have to try their mixed platter of appetizers where you get to try all the cold appetizers in one plate at a reasonable price. Then we order the mixed platter for four people, it was so good and the quantity is worth for price.Their ambience next to the sea view is amazing.To try authentic turkish/ Mediterranean food with a nice view of sunset at a reasonable price. Definitely go check it out!
I ordered Turkauz using Uber Eats for my first time, due to wanting to spend an evening in .The food came fairly quickly & was still hot .I ordered the mix Kebab platter, hummus, rice pudding & chicken shish . I'm not a fan of the Coban salad so I requested just some more rice instead , which they did for me without issue .The food here is so tasty and all is very fresh .I highly recommend the mix kabob platter to try both lamb & chicken , shish and kofte .Turkuaz is a hidden gem in Bedford .I give 4/5 stars for prices being a little high & also my missing item from order, my rice pudding, although UBER EATS refunded my money, the rice pudding is what I looked forward to the most . Hope to try it next time . ??
I recently moved to Halifax a few months ago and Turkuaz was one of the first restaurants that my husband took me to, and I’m so glad he did. I have been back many times and their food is consistent every time. Their chicken shish plate is my favourite. The chicken is fresh, tender and seasoned beautifully. Their roasted red pepper dip is to die for, we order two every time. The service is impeccable, and the chef is friendly and approachable. Best Turkish food in the city no doubt. Overall 5/5 experience every time.
I have visited this restaurant several times, the service is good, my favorite dish is the mix kebab, the food is always well seasoned and well grilled, the location is very good for dining in, with tables overlooking the Bedford Basin. Price is not cheap but not very expensive. Pre-booking required, as the restaurant gets very busy on weekends and holidays.
It was very disappointing experience for us in this restaurant. We visited Turkuaz for my birthday dinner with family. As it was special occasion for us we communicated to Restaurant in advance that we would like to have “Kunefe” in desert and twice restaurant confirmed us back that we will get. When after dinner we ordered our desert “Chef” denied to make it as it was time for iftar. If in the of Ramadan no other customer is respected by customer, they should put notice about it but confirming us twice about out request and at the end denying just because of iftar is super “Rude” I woul definitely not visit this place again not I will suggest anyone

A good place to dine in with family and friends. The staff is very accommodating and courteous. Their food is tasty and enough. We tried the chicken kebabs and it was tasty. Less spicy but tasty. The main highlight was the view. I would recommend going there for lunch as you can enjoy the view as well.
Very nice place. Food portions was good and food was tasty. We ordered mix chicken and mix lamb kababs. Both were ery delicious. They serve olives and bread on the house. Service was out of this world. Perhaps one of the best customer service we had in Halifax. Definitely going back again.
Food was great! Had the chicken shish last night and it was amazing. Definitely will be back!
