Location of this hotel is great in my opinion. Friendly and helpful staff to answer any questions I had. There was also plenty of parking and I would feel parking the vehicle there. Breakfast was included which my stay, the first day the breakfast was good, the second day breakfast was okay. The room I stayed in had a decent view of the park, also had a big desk which is nice to have and a decent size tv to watch when winding down for the day. The bathroom had good lighting, which was great ?. The only negative is the bathroom size which I found to be small for me being tall. I understand this is an old building and use to be government building renovated into a hotel, but too small for tall people. But the major issue was the bath towel, there was a big dark spot on it which kinda of grossed me out. Another issue was the sink, the water flow went down very slow, probably the pipe needs to be cleaned out. I would stay again but need to check all towels before using and maybe get a room with a bigger bathroom if possible?

A very classy and welcoming hotel in the centre of Halifax. Fairly pricey but a great place to stay if you intend to frequent the waterfront. Our room was very small, the bathroom wasn't stocked (we had body wash in the soap dish instead of soap because they ran out) and the door to the bathroom was glass meaning any friends we had over had to leave the room if someone wanted to use it.Judging from the floor plan, we just got unlucky with an end room, but worth considering. I don't tend to spend much time in hotel rooms other than sleeping and getting ready, and it was great for both of those.

Absolutely terrible. We picked this hotel based on reviews and vicinity to the boardwalk. And although relatively close, there are better locations.Right from the start, the check in agent was so rude. His demeanour was dismissive and abrupt. We were not offered options for parking or even help (or directions to our room). This was brushed off as people can have a bad day and the valet was an absolute gem. He told us we could upgrade to valet parking which was much appreciated as the check in agent told us to go around back to park… so in the dark this was a daunting idea.Day 2 we complained about the room to another front desk agent. Understanding the hotel was built in 1930 it is not the most modern but the plumbing barely functioned and we had no bathroom fan. There was gross brown stuff dripping down our walls. We were told “we can move you to a comparable room” umm, no thanks! Why would we be inconvenienced by packing up to move to the same thing. They offered to come inspect and clean up the brown stuff, which never happened. The in-room dining hours are quite short and there are no vending machines on site. When asking another front desk agent what our options were for night time snacks we were told “that’s what superstore is for” which is down the road. The whole building smells of must. The pool is out of date and dirty, not to mention how terrifying the elevator is that takes you there. You can do better for price and location while visiting the pier.0/5

Staff was fine, bed was comfortable. But the heating/cooling system sounded like a plane taking off, and we had an absolutely stunning view of a black wall casting our room into near constant darkness. You would think for the price you pay for a high end hotel it wouldn't feel like a dungeon.

Was on a short trip to Halifax and was lucky to have chosen Westin Nova Scotian. This was our first ever visit to Halifax and chose this hotel primarily for its location... It definitely turned out being a great choice. The Hotel was clean and neat. The front desk staff and especially the manger "Riasin" was SUPERB, she definitely went out of her regular duty to accommodate us. The Housekeeping staff was also very courteous and helpful. Highly Rated and recommended

The Westin Nova Scotian is an amazing hotel. Closed to everything. During my stay. Staff are all wonderful and helpful. From May 19 till now. And also the hotel offers some good amenities like coffee maker which is wonderful. So proud of all staff at the Westin Nova Scotian. This hotel will definitely be my second home in Halifax. (And I rate 5 stars, but overall is like a 10 Stars, and more than 100 points)

best hotel .. great comfortable beds I slept well :)

One of the notable and landmark hotels in Halifax! It’s been staying there for 10 years! Excellent location nearby VIA Train Station, Superstore, gas station, park, and some famous restaurants just minutes walking distance! They have done a fabulous upgrade and looks like even more refined and elegant! The room was spacious and clean! The Bar and room service were great and prompt! Although I had multiple issues with this stay, the Front Desk was able to handle and resolve it properly and professionally to my satisfaction! Will come back again and highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Westin over the Xmas holidays and our experience was exceptional. This hotel was built in 1928 by the CN Railway which gives the hotel a very special historic feel. That said, despite the building’s age, it is beautifully kept up and features modern rooms all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We went with a premium room with a king bed and a harbour view and price was reasonable. The staff was attentive and was accommodating during check-in and any requests. We we also thankful for a friendly note from the GM following our stay which was a nice added touch. All and all this was an excellent stay and a great price. We will be back!

It’s ok, nothing exceptional. Had a 3 night stay here for work. Had a waterfront room that was quite small (apparently this is due to the time of construction, so just be aware). They advertise that it’s been renovated but still use those loud single flush toilets often found in old shopping malls/ elementary schools. Very obvious that things were done to save on budget as showers were not renovated and quite dated, except for some rain shower fixtures. The location is decent, and once the weekend hit it was VERY busy. Dance competitions, beauty pageants, kids sports teams were a plenty. There are only two elevators… but pro tip: use the pool elevator if you can during those rush hour times.Staff was very pleasant and professional.
