Arrived in the middle of the lunch rush without a reservation and a party of three, we were seated within five minutes. Had our food within twenty minutes.Service was very quick and efficient. The inner venue was very rustic. Bathrooms were located downstairs which may be hard for some guests to reach. Lots of interesting local brews on tap and some signature cocktails that were fun to peruse. We had the rosemary poutine, Mac and cheese, along with the basil and fior de latte pizza. Perfect lunchtime portions, very filling. The menu is about exactly what you would expect of a gastropub. The downstairs showcased some of the awards and recognitions the venue has won also.
Had reservations for Saturday brunch with girlfriends. Was seated right away. Waitress was very informative about menu items and beer selection. Large selection of Nova Scotia Craft beers...gave samples before ordering. Know for great Ceases...did not disappoint (according to friends as I am not a fan). Food was delicious and reasonably priced.Overall great service, great food, great atmosphere
The staff were great and friendly, the interior was beautifully decorated for the holiday. They had a holiday drink and food menu, which is lovely. The service was good and the food was also great. We ordered the sausage platter, three different kinds which came with sauerkraut and different mustard’s.We also got the chefs loaded fries, which had some delicious meatballs and marinara with the cheese curds. It was nice getting reacquainted with the restaurant, looking forward to my next visit.
Became a regular when I was in Halifax for a month for work. This became my home away from hotel. Loved the staff, the ambiance, the lobster Mac-n-Cheese and the amazing wings on Wednesday. Next time I’m in Halifax this will be my first night out!
The Lobster Mac N’ Cheese is a MUST!! Love the atmosphere at the Stubborn Goat, staff is friendly and food is amazing. Every Wednesday is wing night too!
Great food and great service. Our server Kiera was awesome!
the service was great, waitress gave good recommendations of drinks and food.I ordered a Hard lemonade which you can choose from three different liquors and I went with the gin option. Additionally, what flavour you’d like and I went with blueberry. Recommend if your looking for something not too sweet but packs a punch. It’s also burger week in Halifax, naturally, I ordered their advertised burger for this, The Queso Grande. The flavours were there, it had a bit of heat (I love Spicy so might not be for the faint of heart), and has the melted cheese sauce on top which the waiter executed the poor at our table. My only downfall with this burger is that I wish the patty had been thicker. I felt like that could have elevated the burger since so much was going on but the meat was lost.Good experience, would go again and recommend trying it out!
This was my first time ordering food from here. My husband and I tried the Queso Grande hamburger. I did a take out order. The hamburgers had a good flavor and very spicy. However, do not expect to have the same one like the photo. Meat need to be cooked more.
Best Creme’ Burlee I have ever had. Amazing service. Emily our waitress was astounding, so thoughtful and kind. Can’t recommend this place enough and will be coming back many more times!
Ordered takeout, was told 20 min, it was ready in 25, no problem. Took the food back to our hotel. No cutlery or napkins. Had the cool ranch nachos.. cool because they were cold? The cheese under the first layer wasn't even melted and barely warm. I also added deep fried pepperoni.. an extra $4 for about 10 thinly sliced pieces. Not much flavor. Also ordered the deep fried pickles... soggy, flavorless and the cheese diping sauce may have well been yellow glue. Threw them in the garbage. Save your money, don't order this. Misses had pulled pork with pineapple mac n cheese ... lacking in the pulled pork but she liked it. Overpriced flavorless food.
