I apologize for not having any photos of this place. It had aa pretty neat atmosphere. Old school pub. I ordered a Virgin lime margarita which they made especially for me. I'll have to remember to ask them not to put salt on the rim. The salt is just for the tequila and if there is none... well... the salt can over whelm everything else. I also ordered the fish and chips. They weren't bad.It was an interesting crowd of people... some dudes at the bar, a touristy bunch of friends, a couple that seemed to on a date...The wait staff and bartender were lovely.
Stopped in for wing night and we weren't disappointed. Great price, and the wings were amazing.
I’m turning 21, got asked for double ID where as my boyfriend wasn’t. He used the blue light on his but not mine. I ordered a cocktail and I guarantee there was no alcohol in it for the over price drink. Very discriminating to say the least!Also wings had nothing to them and very over priced
Not very welcoming. My sister and I with our 4 children went to MP's on Monday. Our greeting was, "We're out of the steak special," and it wasn't said nicely. (I don't even eat steak.) Then, we were told they couldn't seat us--that they couldn't pull two tables together to seat our party. (They weren't that busy.) This all happened within two minutes of being in the place. We're people of color and their response felt targeted and intentional. My family and I will not back. Ever!
I went to support Jackie Smiths karaoke show last night. The server I had was friendly, apologetic when he told me they were out of an item, was hyped when I said I would be singing karaoke and that he wished I wasn't leaving when I did (earlier than planned). I wish I got his name. all I know is you better not lose him! The panko breaded onion rings were tasty on the pallet and the drinks were reasonably priced. Thanks Maxwells Plum, I'll be back!
Normally a fun spot for live music and drinks. However the last time I was there, there was a sign saying the weekly specials. On the sign it said Saturday: $5 cocktails $5 shooters. That’s it. No * by anything. No fine print. Nothing within view said it was specific shots or cocktails and our server did not let us know. I brought this up with someone and nothing was really handled well. I was told they were agreeing with me not wanting to pay for someone else’s mistake, yet nothing was done to change anything. So if you go just make sure you ask for clarification on everything on the menu so you don’t pay triple what you planned…
Had a great time with Party Marty! Came from Edmonton Alberta and made new friends all night it seemed. Two levels of fun pub atmosphere.
Old style pub. Food was well cook and reasonably-priced. The staff was friendly. A convenient place to go when downtown.

My partner and I wanted to get out for a night this Monday. Thinking of all the places we could go in downtown Halifax, we decided upon Maxwell's Plum. It was a disappointing visit, to say the least. At a total of $80 before tip, my partner and I were left feeling less than enthusiastic about paying our bill. Two beers, two cocktails, and two appetizers that seemed as if they had been purchased in a frozen grocery aisle. My partner was given a cracked glass to drink from, and on my trip to the upstairs restroom, there was no soap or paper towel to be found.I've enjoyed nights at Maxwell's before and after the recent ownership change, and have had good experiences, but this visit will have us reconsidering a return anytime soon.
