Discovered this place when I visited my brother in Nova Scotia. I love the idea of a games cafe as a way to discover and try new board games. Given the cost of games, it gives you a chance to try out games before making a purchase. The place is roomy and inviting and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions as we tried to figure the rules to the game we were playing. There is a good selection of games to play and purchase. It is not expensive - $6/person for three hours. You can also buy drinks and food. The naan and dip was good as was the Mac and cheese. Will definitely return during next time I am in Halifax.

What a great idea....friends introduced me The Board Room Game Cafe and I was not disappointed. They have tons of game from which to choose and the staff are very knowledgeable for ensuring that the games we chose were well explained. The menu is fabulous and fun. An all around fun experience and I look forward to going back when in Halifax next. Go and have fun with your family and friends...you will not be disappointed.
Very good! Food is good and the staff are super cool too! The selection of games is great and the environment is cozy. My only compliant is that they give their reservations tables away a little quicker than I think is reasonable. If you're driving and don't pick up when they call you they'll give your table away after only a few minutes. I believe it was 15-20. My group nearly didn't get in until too late to stay on our last visit because the driver was coming from Truro and got delayed.Overall though my experience with this Board game cafe is positive, definitely try their Mac 'n Cheese if you get the chance!
Always great service here. Nice spacing between tables, really keeping up with cleaning with sanitizer on every table.We had hot beverages and snacks as we gamed which was lovely.Also have a great selection of games and supplies for Warhammer figurines and some world building things.
Decent night. Lots of great games and great food. They don’t want you to get drunk so they don’t check in on your drink situation often. That could be better, but very responsible.
f you like games at all, it's a great date spot -- or just a spot to hang with a bunch of friends. But, do not go for the food :-PThe staff is both incredibly well-trained, and well-hired (ie. very decent people, who love games). It's great to visit a well-managed place.But, do not go for the food. Wait. Did I say that already?They do serve up Propeller and a couple other good beers though. And to the chap who was lamenting their lack of Twilight Imperium: I feel you there, but I'm not sure any business is prepared to host a four-day game, Lol!(Especially with such a paucity of decent eats. Did I mention the food?)
My boyfriend made a reservation and when we arrived he realised he forgot his proof of vaccine. We ask if our reservation will be held if we run home to get it or will we forfeit it. The employee tells us our reservation will be held, they won't give it away. When we arrived back we were told by a manager that they had just given our spot away. Super disappointing. If they had said they couldn't hold our spot, it would have been fine because it was our bad but to be told we could leave and come back and then be turned away was definitely uncool.
I went looking for something to do as it's colder outside and came across this on Google. I had gone to a gamesroom place on quinpool and it was small with not many games, so my expectations weren't too high. This place looked so cool inside. The game host person was awesome at recommending games for 2, the snacks were fun and cute. Mix and match for $6 like candy, popcorn, pepperoni, etc. The games that were selected were so fun and I actually want to buy one on my own. I decided to come back again tonight with a party of 5 and it was awesome fun for a couple of hours! Everyone that works there was friendly and helpful. They also have a points system which adds up superfast! Would go again. ?
