This place was recommended to us by Halifax locals (although our server said she hadn’t served a local all summer) and it didn’t disappoint. The food was incredible, the staff were friendly, the service was amazing! I really wanted to sit in the patio but it was chilly and threatening to rain. The atmosphere indoors was still comfortable and we were tucked into a table in the back so it was relatively quiet. Highly recommend making reservations! Dinner came to about $200 for the two of us (including tax and tip), but we both had drinks, appetizers, an entree, dessert, and coffee. Not a value meal but not ridiculously priced either. I’ll definitely eat here the next time I’m in Halifax!
We had an early dinner at the Bicycle Thief on August 11th and our server Nicole was lovely. The meal, the cocktails and dessert were so elegant and perfectly done. We enjoyed every bite.
Delicious dinner. I sat at the bar and was well taken care of. The staff are friendly and had great suggestions. The food was delicious, portion was a little small, though my dessert was massive. It can get loud, but the place is always packed.
had the fish cakes; generous portion; absolutely delicious! the service was very good, very warm and professional, even though the restaurant was busy
We were just in Halifax for a few hours and decided to walk along the waterfront on the beautiful boardwalk. We stumbled on the Bicycle Thief and ended up having a glorious dinner. Everything we tasted was outstanding - the oysters, the calamari, the clams in spaghetti and the hot fudge sundae. All raised up to a very high standard. Rarely is every course a winner. It was here. On top of that, at a time when so many restaurants understandably struggle with service (and bravo to the waitstaff at those restaurants), the service here was impeccable. Top notch choice!
I few down to Halifax on Aug 1st & had made reservations for 7 pm at TBT. My flight arrived late & we need 10 mins to get to the restaurant. There was a mix-up & we lost our reservations that night. The next day I popped in (it was swamped at lunchtime) to get take out. I ordered Cioppino
We tried this of many restaurants. It wasn’t anything to write home about. We found it pretty average and it was hard to get a table so make sure you book in advance. We enjoyed the gnocchi from here. The seafood dishes we ordered, such as the lobster thermidor and cioppino were decent.
Good was quite good, calamari needed more salt and another minute to be flash-fried. Bread Salad was excellent. Quick question - are you wanting to sound pretentious by calling your burger “infamous”? Not sure who developed your menu and the names of food, but infamous means “of bad quality”. Basically, an infamous person is famous for a negative reason. Rename this burger and you may have a too-notch menu.
Lovely gem…. Great food nice atmosphere service was superb!
Best restaurant in the HRM, the atmosphere is amazing.
