I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat on a hot afternoon between lunch and dinner. I ordered the Insalata Con Pollo Arresto, Schiacciata and sparkling water. As I was solo, I didn't want to order anything too large that I couldn't finish as I had no way to keep leftovers. The Schiaccaiata was a plain thin focaccia bread - more of a flat bread brushed with olive oil- with an olive and tomato based spread. The bread was pleasantly chewy and delicious. The salad had very simple ingredients. On the menu it looks like just chicken and bacon salad. However the execution was exquisite making this one of the best salads I have ever tasted. The roast chicken was pulled into large chunks, not cut. The greens were very fresh. The crisp pancetta was a full round, not broken up into pieces. The garlic dressing melded all the elements together perfectly. As I savoured this wonderful concoction, I watched the staff prepare for the evening service. This was an experienced crew who knew their jobs well and it was a pleasure to watch them. Even though it was mid afternoon and a solo customer can be a bother for some servers, my server was attentive and quick. If I had more time in Halifax, I would have returned for another meal.

Good food. Average desserts and rude waitress. I’m surprised by people thinking they are giving you food for free.

This place is amazing. Authentic Italian cuisine. Fine dining experience. Cozy atmosphere. Great selection of wines. Food is fresh, hot and proportional to the price. Recommended this place for the solo foodie adventurer or for that romantic date night couple.

I haven't went here since I worked there and had gotten a drink at The Daily Grind first. I had a seat at the bar and got the jumbo shrimp and schiatta. I had ordered the Jack Sparrow cocktail but it had pineapple in it. Sebastian made me something else that I liked more. I talked to a few people that I worked with and missed seeing. I ordered the banana caramel cheesecake and wow! It was amazing! Perfect way to end my meal.

So delicious!! The funghi pasta was soooo yummy! Other friends enjoyed their pasta and pizza! The restaurant is closed to the waterfront so a nice stroll afterwards! Tip: It was pretty busy so book ahead!

Our sister-in-law took us to this restaurant when we were visiting her in Halifax. It was convenient as it was within walking distance and on the waterfront. We were on the road for 15 days and this was the best meal we had. The food was so tasty and the service was great. Prices were fair. The patio is crowded however the restaurant inside is roomy and the atmosphere is great.

We had the calamari and scallop apps, both very good, then split the frutti di mare pasta. Also very good. The Paris Is Burning cocktail was good but a bit sweet. The Pecorino white wine from Abruzzo was terrific with the seafood pasta. Excellent and friendly and prompt service, on a perfect evening at their outside tables in July.

Went for supper with friends. Restaurant was extremely busy and service was slow. Tables are very small (barely held our drinks and plates comfortably) and wobbly (drinks were constantly spilling). Ordered a margarita pizza and it was the same quality that you would receive at a fast food place. Crust was burnt and pizza had bland flavor. My husband was extremely impressed with his Chicken Parmesan saying it was one of the best he has ever had though. There were only two bathrooms for the entire restaurant so be prepared to wait in line for at least 10 minutes. Servers were fine, but for the amount of them per customers I expected to have more attention (eg, refills, and receiving proper cutlery). Server was extremely pushy on selling dessert to the point of obnoxious. I ended up ordering one not because I wanted one but so that she would stop asking. (We were simply trying to finish our drinks and use the bathroom to,leave) Overall, not a bad experience but not memorable. I would say that you could find better value and experience without much effort. Also, parking was inconvenient.

We had hoped to get into The Bicycle Thief restaurant but the wait was long so we checked out this place only several steps away, across the parking lot. Although Ristorante a Mano lacked a harbor view (blocked by cars, despite being adjacent to the harbor), the interior was lively and the patio was very comfortable and relaxing. I had the seafood linguine and my wife had halibut. Both were excellent! We also had some fun, well-mixed cocktails. Service was top notch. Prices were fair for seafood.

Visited twice during our stay in Halifax! We were served by Rachel and Jamie! Food is excellent and service was on point! Will be returning again on our next trip! This place should be on your "must do list"while visiting Halifax!!
