Came to Pickford & Black while visiting Halifax with my grandmother and mother. Service was quick and polite. The food was great, I ordered a tasty chicken sandwich with fries. Unfortunately, the patio was closed when I came due to poor whether, though the patio did look pretty nice.Seemed like a good place to come when visiting the Halifax waterfront and downtown. Highly recommend.
decided to stop in for dinner & oysters after walking the boardwalk all day. the oysters were beautiful, presentation was lovely and they tasted super fresh. highly recommend the rockafellers as well.i ordered the mussels & it was a very generous serving. the garlic butter sauce was perfection! took away one star because my husband ordered the lobster roll, and it was very small. maybe 6-7 small pieces of lobster. ultimately he was disappointed with his main and he felt silly as he left hungry lol.our server Pete was great. overall, views were beautiful and the vibes were perfect. would love to try brunch when we visit again.
Mu husband had called a couple days before to reserve a table by the window by the water for my birthday but when we got there they put us at a small table by a window not facing the water. The guy that seated us was not nice and said that's all they got but once we told our waitress that we were disappointed because we called 2 days before to reserve a table she was more than willing to please us and make us happy. She took us to a table in the dinning room that they weren't opening up but let us sit in there by a waterview window. I never got her name but she's the only reason we never got up and left. She was the only waitress on and it was a busy night but she was very good and fast, we never had to wait for drinks and the food was fast. We ended up enjoying our evening thanks to her!!
Service left much to be desired. We were seated and then left without even water for 10 minutes. A gentleman who appeared to be management noticed us, brought us water and sent the server over. No apology from server.Despite the poor service the food was good. We ordered the cauliflower wings, the lobster roll and 2 cocktails. Enjoyed everything! The fries were also very tasty
A great place for brunching. Good portions and standard diner fare. Loved the openness of the restaurant. Would definitely go back for more brunching.
This is am amazing spot. There are great vibes, delicious food and helpful and friendly service. From the reservation taker to the hostess. Molly was especially lovely. I had the lobster meal and the hubby had the steak. I would order both again and definitely will return in the new year. Thank you Molly and Pickford & Black for a perfect date venue.
The fish and chips were outstanding. Serving staff were pleasant and helpful. A very good dinning experience. We will return.
Excellent lunch spot with view of the water
Had an amazing meal out for Burger Week. We had their special burger plus one of their regulars. They were amazing! Berry salad, fries and Gahan beer were great too. The waitress was incredible even though she was waiting on the entire room by herself. Getting staff is tough these days so please be understanding. It was our first time but won't be our last. Thanks so much!!
Overpriced, low-quality food. You pay for the location.Seafood chowder was basically cream and the pasta was just ok.
