The food and drinks were good. I went on karaoke night and the man in charge of karaoke is incredibly misogynistic and narcissistic. The venue would be fantastic if this man was not there. I have never felt so belittled and unimportant in my life. I was feeling tired and asked this man if I could see the karaoke list to decide if I wanted to wait for my turn or go home. He refused to let me see the list and when I persisted he called security and had them escort me out. He was very aggressive and angry and the way he treated me was frightening.
Went here for the first time in over 14 years and haven’t changed. The karaoke was good and the booze was good but the difficulty was trying to get a server to get you either a drink or food. It got to the point where you would just have to go up to the bar and wait in line for a drink/food.Would go again but maybe not the night before a holiday
Do not order wings.We hadn't been there in years. The service was fine. But the food was very pleasant. Despite ordering 6 different types of wings all we could taste was chicken and no "flavour".
I first went to this place when I was a university student and still go on the rare occasions that I am back in Halifax. It’s like some other posters have mentioned - like being in a basement or legion. If you want to know what taverns must have been like in the 1960s and 1970s go here. Lots of TVs, wing night can get insane, and if you ever have the (mis)fortune of being here on UFC nights you are in for a treat (staff are run off their feet). Some serious old school bartenders (Louis and Norm) who have likely seen it all over the years, but are good guys. Not a place I would take a first date, but if she really loves you she’ll go here with you. I hope this place never changes.

Good as it gets for a tavern. Great staff. Nice big wing cooked just right. Friendly people. What more could you ask for.

I went there as part of a group of 8 guys for Beer and Wings night. Eric and especially our server, Kendra gave an awesome service even into their closing hours. Thank you!
Quite frankly one of the worst and unprofessional experiences I have had a halifax bar. The waitress was unable to count how many beers our table had and came back half way through the night claiming our table had not paid for 3 whole pitchers. She embarrassed us in front of the entire bar and yelled at us and would not listen to anything we tried to say. I used to come here every week and they are losing my business. Your negligence is not my fault and as a student now I am out the money. Unprofessional and embarrassing.
