Have been a customer of this place since 2017. 2017 to somewhere between 2018 was the glory days of this restaurant. Food was consistent all the time. Never a moment where you would get to think the cook did something wrong. However, since after the quality has dropped. Nowadays, its like are you gonna get lucky? Food preparation nowadays super inconsistent. For example one day your order biryani rice will be super fragrant and tasty with all spices in the right amount. the other day the same rice will taste like pain rice with a bit of turmeric on the top. one day the coleslaw dressing will be thick and rich, the other day it will be runny like water. one day the meat will be super juicy other day the meat will be super dry and overcooked. Honestly I really liked the food here and I would like to see you guys comeback with the consistency and improve. During 2017 I was a regular and I want to become a regular again if you guys can maintain the consistency. Now, I just don't know what type of surprise is waiting when I order. It may be a good one or it may be a bad one.
I ordered lamb kabsa. Its too salty and the rice was full of turmeric. You can’t even eat more than one bite because of turmeric smell. Worst food ever tried. ?waste of money.Worst customer service as well.Not recommended at all. ????
Worst food with low-quality service:We ordered Lamb Shank & it had too much salt & turmeric powder. When I told them about food problem, they didn’t even say “sorry”.We had dine in, but the restaurant didn’t even offer a glass of water, seriously??Worst food to taste in Downtown Halifax. I tried many Mediterranean food in Halifax & this Mashawee Mediterranean grill is seriously bad.

They include a coleslaw, hummus and garlic sauce and the crunch from the cabbage and the acidity from the hummus really elevate this dish. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Great spot for a quick bite to eat or if you want to get something to warm your belly on a cold winter day. They have fatayer’s, lamb dishes, chicken dishes and also they have some great shawarma’s. They have a spicy version of the chicken one, ask them for extra sauce.The rice dishes are so delicious, the salads are good, the meat is also very flavourful.They even have desserts, and some unique drinks from the Middle East which makes the kid in me get excited.For someone new to the city who wants a quick middle eastern food fix, this is a good place to try.
Amazing Food ?? and very good price. Strongly recommend if you do not care for fancy dining atmosphere. Lamb kabsa and Grilled chicken (half chicken) are superb. Lamb tikka is also delicious.
Excellent Mediterranean food. In my opinion, the chicken shawarma is the best in Halifax. The samosa is excellent as well. The service is outstanding. Highly recommended!
I have been a customer in this restaurant for couple years. I use to love your flavor and food quality, I don’t know what happened but recently your food quality has awfully dropped. I ordered a grilled chicken meal and look at what you served. The chicken was small and it’s all horribly burnt. There’s only a thin layer of rice, you can even see the bottom of the container through the rice. It’s not happen occasionally it happened almost every time I order. Please train your cook how to prepare food, otherwise that’s a good way to lose your customers.
Tried this place for the first time and the food was amazing. I had Lamb Kabsa - lamb was very tender and nice. Should mention the lady at the counter is really nice and polite. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to try halal lamb.
