Made an order through Doordash and I was VERY disappointed with the portion size for the cost of the food. The little bit that was there was good but I was completely shocked that they thought this portion was acceptable to provide someone. It’s unfortunate because the food is good but for that price you need to provide more than a sample size portion. I will think twice before ordering from here again.
They server tatortots instead of home fries. They said there was a shortage. $20 for one person for breakfast. Over priced by $7

I just ordered $70 worth of food from Kempsters through door dash. I paid an extra $3 dollars for onions rings with my fish and chips and when it arrived there was LITERALLY 4 onion rings. FOUR. I paid 75 cents per onion ring ON TOP of the price of the “Fish and Chips” this is an absolute rip off. The food may be good but it IS NOT $24 dollars for two tiny pieces of fish and FOUR onion rings good. This is ridiculous.
I went for the Burger Bash "Carnival Burger" !It was really good ! It had deep fried pickles , onion rings & mozzasticks on it , with some lettuce and tomato & a mayo sauce .I had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert . Delish :)My server , Elizabeth , was an absolute Gem & I had a lovely experience with her :)It was my first time trying Kempsters , the food was good , the service was amazing , I will return for sure !
Always great service and food. Kind of a nice diner/family-type restaurant with fresh foods that are well prepared. Can't go wrong!
We had breakfast this morning and it was delicious! The food arrived quickly and piping hot. Our server, Jennifer, was so personable and efficient. We will definitely return.
I wrote a very favourable review of this restaurant 9 years ago, but my last 3 visits have been very disappointing. It was our go to family restaurant but no more. I won't be back. I cut them some slack with their limited Covid menu, but last two times no excuse for the poor quality of the food and lack of ingredients for menu items. Not even any rice pudding last visit. I appreciate the revenue challenges of Covid but to cut the way you have cut menu items and skimping on quality is unacceptable to me. Plus you raise prices. I have been so disappointed with most of the GraftonConnor properties. Here like so many places they look like they want to focus on the Doordash/Skip the Dishes crowd at the expense of the in person diner. Less cost per revenue dollar. It is ridiculous. They ruined the Esquire and now they have ruined Kempsters. All the empty parking spaces tell a story. There was a time just 5 years ago they were all full by noon.
Food and service is great! Nice place to get together with friends!
Homemade dessert, fresh haddock, and great service. A wonderful, clean dining room.
