I have been meaning to come here for years. I’m very glad that I had the opportunity this time around while visiting Halifax. Great assortment of foods and snacks, and the bar master made me three awesome cocktails based on my preferences. The place was packed and vibrant but that only added to the appeal and mood! Highly recommend you give Highwayman a try.

Our experience at Highwayman started out amazingly. Unfortunately, the larger plates didn't deliver. The scallop crudo... EXCELLENT. I could probably eat this for the rest of my life and be happy. The croquetas were perfect and the kitchen's selection of meat and cheeses were nice though we would have preferred two types of cheese rather than just Manchego. The charred carrot was good. We ordered the broccoli and whipped feta upon the server's recommendation but it was nothing special and although feta is salty, this dish was unreasonably so. The Spanish tortilla, is for all intents and purposes, a frittata topped with mushrooms. It was bland and we could not taste the cinnamon listed in the description. The saffron flavour of the poached trout was distinct but the dish was so salty it was difficult to finish. Despite what we didn't like, I think we'd still like to try the other dishes but we were late arriving and the restaurant switched to its late night menu mid-way through our meal. The cocktails we had were nice. I would suggest offering some kind of mix with the spirit flights, like a small bottle of soda or or something. Would have liked to try the flight but wasn't interested in straight-up booze.Upon arrival, we were welcomed immediately by friendly staff. The service during our meal was casual but good. The space and ambiance is nice.I'd recommend for the smaller plates but it was a miss for me on the more substantial dishes. That said, I'd go back for the scallops crudo, croquetas and charcuterie - oh, and the Grenache I had was lovely.

Wanting to trade for a long time now but I have not been able to make any profit. I saw a review on a page about Mrs Peggy Abbott forex trader, and I must confess that she is the best forex trader. She managed my trading account after I invested $1,200 I got $6,000 in a week. You too can be a testimony today and you can make good profit too from bitcoin investment. Terrific diverse menu with great vegetables, there were no misses with everything ranged in quality from very good to stellar.Diverse very enjoyable bar options (cocktails, spirits, wine, draft beer) with no misses.Service was spot on. Very much appreciated how the meal was paced.Expect moderate music volume (those with hearing issues should avoid), appropriate for those that do not want to hear their neighbours' conversations. Expect low lighting, so those that require to use their phone flashlight may want to avoid.Order the pesto carrots and Quail Egg + Artichoke Pintxos.$100 pp with one drink and a medium appetite, tipping 18%.

We had the beef tartar, braised carrots seved in a cream sauce, baked meatballs and the braised beef with cauli with romesco. The food was delish packed with flavor. Service was sub par, not very attentive as a server. WILL BE BACK! Check this trendy place, will not disappoint.

Been here four or five times in the last four or five years. The place is rather small with seating for 30 at most? Dark, modern atmosphere with seats at bar if tables are full. Service is very good with knowledgeable and cool staff. You will probably have to ask for descriptions for many of the menu items, which they are good at. The tapas are perfect for trying lots of variety, especially to share if you just want a bite of many different things. The idea is that things come out one at a time so it's just fun seeing what's next, if you do order a variety of items. Eg the other Friday night I made 6pm reservations to take a friend for her bday. We split 5 tapas, an entree, a dessert, 3 cocktails and a bottle of wine, with the total bill after tax coming to $200 exactly. I'd go back any time.

Was in Nova Scotia for Daughter's (ST FX) X-Ring Ceremony. Was given the Highwayman as a recommendation to get too while in Halifax. Extremely glad we got the tip. What a great venue, to enjoy fantastic drinks and food. Sat at bar and talked for hrs with one of the owners, Matt, who was a great host and as it turned out, another former ST FX Athlete Graduate. If you ever have the chance to try this place out, I highly recommend it on all levels. You will not be disapppointed. If you appreciate a real drink and great food, this is a must go to in Halifax.

Highwayman always delivers. Personable service, handcrafted cocktails and an amazing happy hour.

The 2 Best words to describe this place is “Pretentious & misogynistic”. I have been to this restaurant a handful of times since they opened, and each experience has gotten worse.Essentially to get a waiter, waitress, or bartenders attention, you should expect to wear “hipster, influencer attire”, or a suit…. it’s best if you are a male or majority male party as well. Also doesn’t hurt if you have attended St Fx- you’ll get preferential treatment if your a bro from there.Otherwise if you are a hard working, regular citizen from the city or visiting from out of town, you will probably wait for a server to acknowledge you, you MAY get some water offered, maybe not.A lot of the time, when you’re waiting to be greeted, given menus or waiting for your food or drink to come, you’ll note that there is a “bro sesh” usually happening behind the bar around The entrance. There are many many other restaurants downtown Halifax that have the same environment as this one, but you Will be accepted, and taken care of at all of these other spots, no matter who you are or what you look like.I “highly!” Recommend you save your time, money and kindness for other local restaurants who will be happy to serve you and help you make a night out fulfilling and enjoyable. If you do go to this place, I am sorry for your loss. Your loss of time, your loss of money, and your loss of a wonderful evening anywhere else in the city.
