Found this restaurant while wandering around the city. Staff is super friendly.Must try tempura cheesecake and Fuji lobster roll (if my memory recalls it correctly). If u’re a fan of eal (like me), should try gray roll and eal salad.Hokkigai is fresh, juicy and yummy. No pic for tempura cheesecake that I can’t wait to bite it ????
Some of the worst sushi and tempura I’ve ever had. The fish was obviously frozen and thawed out because it was mushy and didn’t smell great, the rolls were falling apart. Most of the tempura had barely any batter on it, and the shrimp weren’t even tempura, just regular deep fried torpedo shrimp. Don’t order from here, Sushi Jet and Wasabi House are way better.
We ordered through door dash and are very big sushi lovers. This place is just not good. Everything was inedible. We ordered two deluxe maki combinations, the sushi was warm, extremely fishy, discoloured and the fish itself just tasted old. We couldn’t even bite through the salmon because of the excess fat on it that wasn’t cleaned off. They were also rolled poorly and fell apart instantly. I felt sick to my stomach instantly from the combination of the smell and taste. The miso soup tasted as if they stewed potting soil and water together with a whole bag of table salt. Definitely will not be visiting this sushi place again.
They have the best unagi don (eel over rice)...but the other sushis/maki rolls were just okay.
They are all family members, with low professionalism. Their children running around. They chat at the front desk and serve food slowly. The sashimi is not fresh and not well-cut. the rice is hard.
I have been eating here a few times but the food in this restaurant is truly tasty. I love sushi so much and I’m happy to try it in a cozy restaurant at an affordable price. Their servers are friendly and responsible. They seem like a family business because I met the manager with her husband and kids mostly, but I like that. Her kids are adorable tho. Give it a try if you also love sushi and the ideal restaurant environment for your family and friends.
Ordered near $60 worth of food for takeout. Combination dinners were supposed to come with a miso soup & salad. Both of these were missing after already having to go back for the mistaken tempura order.Tempura and agadashi tofu had oil literally pooling at the bottom of the container. Staff tried to be helpful although disorganized. I believe this restaurant is under new management. Sadly, we will not be returning.
I used to frequent this place years back. Seriously has gone downhill! Service was so bad.....and I believe we were the only people in the restaurant, besides the staffs screaming children. Sapporo was room temp and rice was musty tasting. Very disappointed.
the sashimi, nigiri and rolls are absolutely disgusting. the fish are not fresh and you can smell the fishy taste from afar. The spicy salmon and tuna rolls with pankos inside are very soggy and stale. The only thing edible is probably the california roll. we tossed more than half of the food away because it is that gross!
I ordered oyako don from there today for delivery. it barely had any rice or chicken in it. The 20% of the container was full. basically it had rice and chicken and egg to make one piece of oyako sushi maki. it was not don and waste of money.
