I love this place. Yes, it's a bit garish but it has a homey feel. The owners and staff are super friendly and will promply provide you with huge helpings of food. They are known for their oversized fish and chips. Bring an appetite. The Jessie Burger is a personal favorite. It's also the only place I know of in town where you can get a Cornish pastie (dairy free!). Try it with ketchup. So good.

Visiting from another province and took a gander to stop here for a late lunch and wow, I am speechless at the fish and chips they serve here. The size of the fish was very generous that they don't mess around and the pound of fries that come with it was heaven galore in the carb world.Would come back here again anytime and if I'm by myself again, I'd order just one (1) piece of fish and chips, not 2 cause holy moly was it massive in food quantity.Service was excellent with friendly staff.

We had the family pack and we all enjoyed it. Good size fishes and a laaaaarge box of fries. Service was good, and service time was very reasonable. Recommend for traditional fish & Chips.

Ordered a 2 piece fish with poutine. Poutine upgrade was an extra 10$ and not worth it. When ordering staff didn’t know the difference between cheese curds and shredded cheese(staff said it was curds, it was shredded cheese) Fries were under cooked(not cooked through) and the poutine was all together not made well.Would not go to this place again as their prices are crazy for a 2 piece fish and poutine.

This is the oldest Fish and Chips joint in Halifax and has a very British style charm to it. In fact, the owner has a British accent! It is a simple setup and has a homely feel; Mom and pop style. The fish pieces are HUGE and DELICIOUS. Very impressed. And the prices are excellent. I also liked the curry sauce that comes with it. Very similar to how it’s served in England. The Lobster Chowder was OK.

If I could give it 10 stars I would, honestly such friendly people who own the restaurant, warm and welcoming environment, very decent sized portions of food and they will happily give you a to go box for the rest of you're meal, I do order out but would prefer to dine in for the full experience. The prices are great and the wait time for you're food is next to nothing, 100% recommend, 10 out of 10 stars, newfie poutine is my go too always. If you try, I really do think you should dine in, it's really worth it, you will not regret the decision, it's worth the time and money garenteed. Will be returning for more for sure and very soon.Thank you for you're service guys!!!

I can't believe that they would even serve the fish they gave me. Before even took it out of the bag I could smell that it was rotten. When I tasted it it was so gross and the texture was disgusting. My cats couldn't even stand the smell.

Absolutely delicious fried clams and chips! But bring a friend to share with because the portions are pretty huge and its so sad to waste such delicious food. Everyone was super friendly too - thanks guys!!

Must eat the clams here , one of the few places that have fresh whole clams that are way better then John's lunch , will be going here from now on.And the fish is great to , the best seafood in Halifax !

My wife and I had the fish and chips and the food was awesome. The service couldn't have been better. The parking was tough at that time of day, but we're also driving a truck which didn't help. Do yourself a favor if you're nearby and try it out.
